Snoop Dogg's Daughter Cori Shares How He Supported Her After Stroke

Almost a year since Snoop Dogg’s daughter experienced a stroke, she shared that her father provided support throughout her health struggle.

As I shared with TopMob News correspondent Will Marfuggi during our exclusive conversation, it’s simply astounding, considering the busy lifestyle he leads. He’s almost always on the move, scarcely ever present. Yet, his dedication towards his daughter, offering guidance, and assuring me of his presence – these gestures truly resonate deeply within me, making me feel that I matter in his world.

Last night, the rapper known as “Sweat” (who has three children – Corde, 30, Cordell, 27, and Julian, 26; the first two with his wife Shante Broadus, and the last one from a previous relationship) contacted her following his 10-hour workday.

She expressed her gratitude, saying, “In times like these, you paused your work to come and support me, to check on my well-being, and confirm I’m okay. This means so much to me as a daddy’s girl, it adds an extra touch of love knowing he’s here for me. It shows how deeply he cares about his little girl.

At the age of six, Cori was diagnosed with lupus, and she opened up about discussing her recent stroke with her family. “I sent them a text saying I’d just had a stroke and attached a picture,” she recounted. “As soon as they received it, everyone rallied around me. Because of some unexpected extra health issues, she ended up staying in the hospital for a longer period than we first thought.

She explained, “Instead of returning home following my stroke, my lupus condition was quite challenging. My kidneys were malfunctioning significantly, and I had numerous things to manage all at once.

Regardless of his fear for hospitals, Snoop – who is known as Calvin Broadus Jr. – stayed by her side throughout the ordeal. “He tends to feel vulnerable in such environments,” Cori explained. “However, he bravely showed up and remained with me, ensuring my wellbeing.

The singer known for “With You” found herself prioritizing herself first after experiencing a stroke during her wedding preparations with partner Wayne Deuce, serving as a powerful lesson in self-care.

She told me that self-care is important since life can be unpredictable and things might occur to guide us back on track. Although I wouldn’t wish for such events, I am grateful because they made me appreciate life more, understand the love surrounding me, acknowledge the strength of my support system, and recognize my own blessings.

And it helps to have a dad as cool and down-to-earth as Snoop.

Cori commented, ‘He’s incredibly laid-back.’ He’s not into extravagances such as jewelry, fancy cars; rather, he leads a simple life. It’s almost surprising when you remember he’s Snoop Dogg because of his low-key demeanor. Not much impresses him easily. I believe that’s why our relationship is what it is.

As she put it, “We were raised like regular Black kids. We just had the finer things in life.”
