Sofía Vergara Makes AGT Golden Buzzer History After Death-Defying Act

As a longtime fan of America’s Got Talent and a seasoned viewer of reality shows, I must admit that this year has been nothing short of extraordinary. The performances we’ve seen so far have been mind-blowing, but the Hakuna Matata Acrobats took the cake during last Tuesday’s episode!

Sofía Vergara is definitely buzzing after America’s Got Talent‘s first season 19 live show.

During the August 13th episode of the NBC competition, the actress broke series history by sending the Hakuna Matata Acrobats directly to the finals, marking the very first time this has happened on the reality TV show, thanks to their awe-inspiring performance.

In a surprising turn of events, the Tanzanian team left everyone amazed, including judges, by forming various structures while standing atop one another on boards set atop moving platforms. Their seemingly impossible feats of balance and strength instantly garnered high praise from Simon Cowell.

The former contestant on American Idol enthusiastically exclaimed, “This performance was incredibly challenging and risky, one of the toughest we’ve witnessed on live television! Truly, my admiration for you soars. The courage and skill you’ve shown in your act is nothing short of remarkable. I can sense that this evening is going to be extraordinary for you.”

Heidi Klum concurred with her co-judge, stating, “Indeed, you captured my interest from start to finish. Your acts are nothing short of life-threatening.”

But it was Vergara who was most impressed by the four performers.

As a lifestyle expert, I must say that this performance on America’s Got Talent is undeniably one of the most impressive acts I’ve witnessed so far. From their auditions, it’s clear that you’ve come a long way and truly deserve to be here. Frankly, I don’t believe anyone else could add much to what you’re already doing, but as a judge, I feel compelled to offer my assistance.

With a powerful gesture, she struck the Golden Buzzer, causing the room to explode in applause as the Hakuna Matata Acrobats rejoiced. What made Vergara’s action so significant was that for the very first time during this season, each judge would be granted one Live Show Golden Buzzer on a specified night during the quarterfinals of Season 19.

In the afterglow of that incredible event, I couldn’t help but sing the praises of that amazing group. Their growth since the audition rounds earlier in this season has been simply breathtaking, and I am absolutely thrilled to witness it all!

“This was simply magnificent,” the 52-year-old observed. “Tonight, I could truly sense their individual characters. It was a sight to behold. Indeed, you all have earned this moment.”
