Solo Leveling S2 Finale: Jinwoo vs Beru, Mystery Beasts & More!

*Warning: This article contains full spoilers for the final episode of Solo Leveling season 2.*

Before the season 2 finale of Solo Leveling aired, the excitement didn’t seem to reach a point where it could be surpassed. The battle between Jinwoo and the Ant King, serving as the culmination of the Jeju Island Arc, provided one of the most thrilling anime fights that we might have ever witnessed in episode 12.

How does episode 13 manage to surpass the previous ones? By wrapping up the story with a positive tone, of course. Instead of leaving viewers anxious about Jinwoo’s potential comeback, they are given a satisfying conclusion – which is great news for all of us.

It is yet unclear if we’ll get Season 3 of Solo Leveling, but one thing is certain: Jinwoo still has battles ahead against familiar and newly emerging threats, some shrouded in mystery.

Solo Leveling season 2 ending explained

Does Jinwoo destroy the ants?

Instead of leaving Jeju Island, Jinwoo chooses to remain and eradicate any remaining ants. In doing so, he eventually progresses to the 100th level. Following this, he opts to apply shadow extraction on Beru, the Ant King’s Corpse.

You may find this scenario reminiscent, as it shares some resemblance to the season 1 finale. Previously, Jinwoo’s last battle was against the Blood-Red Commander, from which he extracted the shadow of Igris. However, this time, he faces a new challenge.

In the first season, Jinwoo was unable to pull out Igris’s shadow; however, when he attempted it with Beru in season 2, he discovered an unforeseen darkness instead. This suggests that something unexpected or potentially problematic is going to happen for Jinwoo as a result of this encounter with Beru.

Since the Ant King held a high military rank, it’s clear that Beru is now the most powerful solider within Jinwoo’s covert army of shadows. His allegiance to Jinwoo is unwavering, and he has already demonstrated this by assisting in the elimination of any remaining ants on the island.

What happened to Cha Hae-In?

In case you recall, Cha Hae-In encountered quite a challenging situation in season 2’s episode 12. Despite being treated with the Elixir of Life, her health continued to decline. Fortunately, Jinwoo managed to find a solution to this predicament, thereby rescuing her life. Rest assured, she is now fully recovered and in good health.

After the passing of top-tier healer Min Byung-Gu, Tusk was assigned to retrieve his remains. Subsequently, a process called shadow extraction was performed on Min Byung-Gu’s body, which transformed him into a shadow soldier. In an unexpected turn of events, the extracted shadow began to heal Cha Hae-In without any explicit commands. Later on, Jinwoo intervened to terminate the extraction, allowing Min Byung-Gu to find eternal peace.

In a profound yet deeply emotional manner, Jinwoo rescues them both from the last of the ants as they depart Jeju Island. This allows Min Byung-Gu to receive a dignified farewell that he truly deserves.

Who are the mystery beasts appearing in the finale?

That’s an intriguing query! Essentially, what we know is limited. These strange entities seem human-like, suddenly appearing among the Knights Guild during their inspection of ant colonies. They exhibit considerable power, with one reminiscent of the Ice Elves from season 2’s opening episodes. They have the ability to put hunters into a deep sleep and appear to manipulate gates, passing through them effortlessly by opening and closing them at will.

It appears that the creatures seem to be trailing a person who possesses abilities linked to the cave. Interestingly, these monsters are not usually found outside the gates under such conditions – but as always, the reason remains unclear to us.

It’s possible you observed that Sung II Hwan, Jinwoo’s father, reappears in the final episode. However, it remains unclear why he returns, but his attention on the beasts’ activities seems intense. Previous dangers hinted at throughout season 2 could potentially relate to this development, though we’re only guessing.

One method for finding some responses in this situation is by delving into the manga. Readers are familiar with these creatures as they are referred to as “Monarch of Fangs” and “Monarch of Frost”. These characters are formally presented in a subsequent storyline.

What happens now?

Unfortunately, there’s no official confirmation about Season 3 of Solo Leveling yet. But let’s keep our fingers crossed and stay positive!

The Jeju Island Raid plays a significant role in setting up the larger narrative of Solo Leveling. Despite our uncertainty about the workings of the game system, the season 2 finale has generated more questions than it’s answered, leaving us intrigued and eager for further explanations.

In a fitting manner, the conclusion of season 2 subtly hints at future events, guiding us towards the final arc of the manga. The enigmatic creatures we’ve encountered aren’t there merely by coincidence.

1. What’s Jinwoo’s father’s desire?
2. What does Jinwoo’s dad aim for?
3. Will Beru dominate or betray him, and what will Jinwoo do now that he’s reached the 100th level? These are all urgent questions we need to address quickly, but they barely scratch the surface of the intrigue in Solo Leveling.

1. What does Jinwoo’s father seek?
2. What goal does Jinwoo’s dad have?
3. Will Beru conquer or deceive him, and what action will Jinwoo take now that he ascended to the 100th level? These are all pressing matters we need to solve right away, but these are merely the beginning of the enigma that is Solo Leveling.
