GSC Game World’s Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl is a game not celebrated for its quick pace. However, the community has already made improvements to the basic movement, such as better climbing and other adjustments. Yet, one modder has taken it a step further by enhancing the overall maneuverability.
Stalker 2 dodging is a superpower
Developed by modder rbwadle, the novel “DODGE” modification for Stalker 2 introduces an agile sidestep feature in Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl. This action is triggered by rapidly tapping ‘A’ or ‘D’ keys on your keyboard, or by employing a more intricate control setup on your gamepad. With this addition, swiftly dodging to the left or right becomes effortless.
Incorporating an evasive maneuver like dodging significantly enhances the smoothness of gameplay in a survival setting. Now, you can swiftly sidestep while charging at adversaries, effortlessly avoiding incoming gunfire and explosives thrown in your direction. Should you find yourself on the defensive, dodging also allows you to dart behind cover, escaping harm’s way and taking advantage of healing opportunities.

The updated evasion feature in the Dodge mechanic is incredibly useful when surrounded by mutated canines and other grotesque beings within the Zone. Now you can easily evade those bothersome, frightening fiends and quickly dash back to safety. In truth, that’s exactly why the modification was initially designed.
The main purpose behind creating this modification, as the maker pointed out, was to prevent the Bloodsucker’s knockdown lunge during its invisibility attack. It’s quite amusing to see them attempt that maneuver only to find themselves met with nothing but air, while they receive a barrage of buckshot in their ear instead.
Although the Stalker 2 DODGE modification currently is quite straightforward, modder rbwadle has hinted at significant enhancements being incorporated into later game editions. For instance, the modder plans to incorporate a feature that allows Skif, the playable character, to dodge not just sideways, but also backwards. This added functionality could potentially make Skif even more formidable.
As an avid fan, I can’t help but share some intriguing insights! If you’re craving more on Stalker 2, don’t miss the Desolation mod, which takes its nihilistic themes to a whole new level.
