Unlike the other Sonic films that used post-credits scenes as mere introductions of new characters, Sonic 3 featured an action-packed sequence showcasing Amy Rose’s abilities while also integrating Sonic. This approach is distinct from the previous movies.

Incorporating Amy and Sonic’s encounter from “Sonic 4” at the beginning of the movie could be an effective method for introducing a new character swiftly and having her interact with Sonic right away. Placing this scene early in the story would also help establish her role within it. Starting the narrative with a flashback to a previous Sonic moment, then transitioning into the forest battle might feel awkward given that the audience has already witnessed the fight and its buildup, making jumping straight into action likely the optimal choice.

This would give insight into how they knew where to find him before the main confrontation, creating a sense of mystery that the movie later resolves. Nevertheless, starting Sonic the Hedgehog 4 directly with the aftermath of the fight remains the preferred option, as the backstory of Amy and Metal Sonic can be effectively developed throughout the film.
