Despite this, it’s still far from Universal’s animated “The Super Mario Bros. Movie,” which made over $1.3 billion in 2023. However, when only live-action films are considered, Sonic currently holds the top spot.

The ongoing box office triumph of Sonic the Hedgehog is quite remarkable, considering it was made available for home viewing just last month.
