Sonic Central Announced, Offers Sneak Peek at “Upcoming Projects” on September 24th

As a seasoned gamer with over three decades of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a surge of nostalgia at the mention of Sonic Central and the upcoming Sonic X Shadow Generations. I remember the thrill of racing through Green Hill Zone on my trusty Mega Drive, and the joy of playing Sonic Heroes with my friends. The prospect of a remake is simply mind-blowing!

Tomorrow sees Sony’s State of Play making a comeback, however, if you’re not interested in that, Sega has announced a new Sonic Central event. This showcase is scheduled for September 24th at 9 AM PST and promises to reveal glimpses of upcoming projects, as well as partnerships and events slated for 2025.

It’s unclear what plans or collaborations the Sonic series might reveal next year; however, there’s a strong possibility that Sonic Team will officially announce their anticipated remake of Sonic Heroes, set to launch in 2025 and available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo’s upcoming system for the Switch. We’ll just have to wait and see, so keep an eye out for updates!

Currently, Sega is set to release “Sonic X Shadow Generations” on October 25th. This game includes a remastered version of “Sonic Generations” and an entirely new single-player campaign focused on the character, Shadow. You can watch some fresh gameplay footage right here. Additionally, “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” (the movie) is slated for release on December 20th. In this film, Shadow makes his series debut, with Keanu Reeves lending his voice to the character.

Think fast! Sonic Central premieres TOMORROW at 9am PST.
