In the latest kart racing game from Sega, titled Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, you’ll encounter familiar faces like Hatsune Miku and characters from Persona 5. However, the excitement doesn’t stop there! The Season Pass introduces characters hailing from various other franchises, such as Steve, Creeper, and Alex from Minecraft. But wait, there’s more! Characters from SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, and Avatar Legends are also set to join the action-packed fun.
The newest preview showcases SpongeBob and Patrick as contestants in a race, with Bikini Bottom serving as the latest course. Gamers will navigate their way through the Krusty Krab and dodge a colossal Plankton robot’s laser-shooting eye. Although the specific launch date for this content remains undisclosed, it is expected to drop following the release of the Minecraft DLC.
On September 25th, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will be released on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch. A new version for the rumored Switch 2 is also planned later. Besides the Season Pass, those who buy the Digital Deluxe Edition will enjoy early access three days prior and receive three characters from Sonic Prime. Keep an eye out for further updates as they’ve eliminated certain “powerful” and “stress-inducing” items from the gameplay.
