Looking for a party jumble? Then hop on the free Sonic Rumble!
Sega’s latest multiplayer party game is set to take on Fall Guys on its own turf.
But will it be worth downloading a kernel anticheat for, or will it just fumble?
Sonic Rumble In The Jungle
On May 8th, Sonic Rumble – a fun, free-to-play party game similar to Fall Guys – will have its worldwide debut on Steam for PC. Additionally, it’ll be available on mobile devices through the App Store and Google Play.
But I have not seen it announce anything for Switch or other console platforms.
When you mention it’s similar to Fall Guys but with Sonic, there’s a bit more depth to consider. It markets itself as the initial multiplayer party game featuring the blue blur, yet enthusiasts who are well-versed in Sonic’s history recall Sonic Shuffle.

Additionally, the game offers multiplayer arenas accommodating as many as 32 competitors, engaged in races and tracks similar to Fall Guys. What sets Sonic Rumble apart is its blend of Sonic-inspired fighting, encounters with bosses, and rollercoaster-like courses.
On the other hand, it appears that some areas and influential personalities have previously experienced the game. Generally, their feedback has been favorable, with only minor issues raised.
Even if someone is just a diehard Sonic fan, their opinion might not carry much weight for some people. However, since everyone seems to be enjoying it, it’s fair to conclude that the game offers a good time when played online.
Moreover, this game is relatively small, requiring only a few gigabytes to download. While it may appear that I own shares in Sega’s Sonic Rumble lineup due to my enthusiastic endorsement, I am simply setting it up for some constructive criticism in the upcoming section.
We call this in the business the sandwich, or maybe that’s just me because I am hungry.
Anti-Cheat Fumble
To clarify, I have a strong desire for this game to thrive and be successful. It’s worth noting that I have an affinity towards the humorous hedgehog character, which might stem from a mental condition often discussed online.
Currently, prior to its worldwide launch, there are two significant problems with this game that demand attention. The most prominent issue is the use of a kernel-level anti-cheat system on Steam. While many developers argue that it’s essential, it appears to be an oversimplification or lack of effort.

A Kernel-Level Anti-Cheat system functions as top-tier cheat detection software, holding a position similar to that of a military colonel due to its high-ranking authority. In simpler terms, it’s the most powerful figure in charge.
However, when referring to games, this software possesses extensive privileges that allow it to delve deeply into your computer’s system and files, keeping tabs on activities in real-time. If it identifies any form of cheating, it can impose a hardware ban, which specifically affects components such as graphics processing units (GPUs), effectively locking them out.
Additionally, it’s unfortunate that Sonic Rumble may run sluggishly due to this circumstance. The reason being, real-time monitoring consumes resources in real time. Furthermore, the game must always be online for DRM purposes, which means your system will continuously depend on Sega’s servers.
In case of a hack or installation of malware, such incidents could exploit the kernel for their benefit. Furthermore, it’s important to note that Sega might have the ability to monitor all your activities extensively.
Riot Vanguard uses a kernel, and that mixed with it being a trash game is why I do not play it.
Secondly, they are holding the movie Sonic skin behind pre-campaign email sign-ups.

So yeah, look forward to Sonic Rumble making your PC task manager tumble!
