With over 16 hours of gameplay for completionists in Sonic Generations, the prospect of another 30+ hours with Shadow is simply enticing.
Recently, Sonic X Shadow Generations has unveiled some fresh details such as a new story trailer. Additionally, Sonic Team producer Shun Nakamura disclosed the approximate length of Shadow the Hedgehog’s new campaign. In an interview with Famitsu (translation by ResetEra), he mentioned that the campaign’s duration is roughly comparable to Sonic Generations.
As a gamer, I’d say that the playtime for Shadow Generations is roughly on par with Sonic Generations, or perhaps slightly less. If you dive into both games, you’re in for a lengthy gaming session. Initially, only Sonic Generations was available, but now with Shadow Generations, it’s like getting two fantastic games for the price of one!
The gaming platform HowLongToBeat estimates that Sonic Generations takes approximately 5.5 hours to complete the main story and around 16 hours for thorough players. If Shadow’s campaign provides similar content, completionists can anticipate more than 30 hours of gameplay. It has been verified as a standalone title, distinct from the original game. However, it is not being sold independently; instead, it is referred to as Shadow Generations within the title.
The game titled “Sonic X Shadow Generations” is set to release on October 25th across various platforms including Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch. For those who have the Digital Deluxe Edition, a special bonus awaits – the “Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Movie Pack” which drops on December 12th.
