The return of Dr. Gerald Robotnik and Maria, two figures deeply entwined in Shadow’s past, is a twist I didn’t see coming.
At this year’s Sonic Central event, Sonic Team revealed the narrative trailer for “Sonic X Shadow Generations,” focusing on Shadow’s segment of the game (be aware that there might be spoilers ahead, so if you don’t want to know, step away now).
In the past, it was disclosed that Black Doom has resurfaced with malicious intentions towards the Ultimate Lifeform. Unwilling to be manipulated any longer, I, Shadow, channel my newly acquired Doom Powers to disrupt the status quo and confront formidable enemies like Mephiles the Dark. Yet, an unexpected twist emerges as Dr. Gerald Robotnik, my creator, and Maria, his granddaughter, make a reappearance in this intricate narrative.
Shadow’s loathing towards humanity, sparked by the death of the latter in the events prior to Sonic Adventure 2, eventually led to his redemption. However, it appears that the Time Eater has resurrected them for a mysterious reason. What might this trajectory entail?
On October 25th, we’ll just need to be patient until the release of Sonic X Shadow Generations, which will be available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
