Sony has shared through an article by Bloomberg that they’ve halted PS5 projects for both Bluepoint and Bend Studio. Despite this, these studios continue to operate and won’t be closed down. Instead, Sony is collaborating with them to decide on their upcoming projects. As per Jason Schreier from the publication, the project Bluepoint had been developing was a live-service game based on God of War.
The game being developed by Bend Studio was additionally a title that required ongoing service. Sony hasn’t verified if the two cancellations will result in job losses at either studio, but they will continue to operate. Sony is “collaborating closely with Bend and Bluepoint to decide on their upcoming projects,” they stated to Bloomberg, adding that they plan to take all necessary steps to minimize business repercussions.
