Sony Interactive Entertainment and People Can Fly have come to an arrangement for the development of a preliminary version of a new game, known as “Project Delta,” which is owned by Sony Interactive Entertainment, according to their announcement.
In this arrangement, the developer (People Can Fly) will collaborate with Sony Interactive Entertainment, the publisher, to develop the project under a work-for-hire agreement. This means that People Can Fly will function as the developer on behalf of Sony Interactive Entertainment, and they will be compensated fairly by Sony Interactive Entertainment for their work.
The process of creating the game prototype will be broken down into distinct phases. As stated by People Can Fly, the terms and conditions of the contract are not significantly different compared to standard production contracts typically used for similar projects.
Based on the similarities in language, it’s plausible that the recent announcement could be about People Can Fly working as a co-developer on a new Sony Interactive Entertainment project, much like their partnership with Microsoft for “Gears of War: E-Day.” However, it remains uncertain if they are the primary developers or just a collaborator in this upcoming project.
