Starting from April 1st, Sony Interactive Entertainment plans to merge its entire subsidiary, SN Systems – a company specializing in creating development tools for game makers using PlayStation consoles – into a single, combined entity.
In 1990, SN Systems was established, later getting acquired by Sony Interactive Entertainment (previously known as Sony Computer Entertainment) in 2005. Since the acquisition, it has been working closely with Sony Interactive Entertainment to develop software development kits and tools for various PlayStation consoles, including the PlayStation 3, PS Vita, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
In a press statement, Hideaki Nishino, head of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Platform Business Group, praised the exceptional team at SN Systems for their crucial role in driving innovation in tools development that has significantly contributed to Sony’s success across various PlayStation generations. He went on to say that deepening this partnership will further strengthen our bond and collaboration. We eagerly anticipate working together to empower developers to produce captivating gaming experiences for PlayStation gamers in the future.
As stated by Sony Interactive Entertainment, incorporating SN Systems is expected to boost innovation and creativity within the realm of PlayStation goods and services, all while streamlining operational efficiency.
