South Park Season 27 Premiere Date Revealed With First Trailer

As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but share my excitement! Guess who just can’t wait for another round of hilarity? Yours truly! Comedy Central has officially confirmed that South Park is back for season 27 on July 9, 2023. It’s been a while since we last saw the gang in action, with the previous six-episode season 26 airing in the year of our laughter, 2023.

The recently unveiled teaser trailer promises a thrilling ride! South Park is on fire, there are mysterious plane collisions, and it seems America is under siege – this time, by Canada and French-Canadians! Our beloved quartet – Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny – are nowhere to be found on solid ground. Instead, they’re cruising through space with aliens and the one and only Sean “Diddy” Combs!

Can’t wait for this rollercoaster of humor! Let the laughs commence! 😄💥😂🇨🇦🚀🎬✨

The final moments of the 80-second preview feature a chilling rendition of “Blame Canada,” an Academy Award-nominated tune from the 1999 film “South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut“. You can view the fresh trailer here.

The video continues by depicting Mr. Garrison in a bathroom soiled with Diddy’s waste, Cartman broadcasting a gynecological examination, the reemergence of the French Canadian Mime to mark the commencement of the second U.S.-Canada conflict, and Randy Marsh informing his wife Sharon that he plans to use ketamine and meddle with the government.

Two years ago marked the end of regular episodes for the long-lasting series “Spring Break.” However, starting from 2021, Paramount+ has been airing special editions of “South Park” streaming events. The first of these new productions, titled “South Park: Joining the Panderverse“, aired in October 2023. This was followed by “South Park (Not Suitable for Children)” in December of the same year and “South Park: The End of Obesity” in May 2024.

In an interview conducted in September 2024, the co-creators of the series, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, shared that they were choosing not to satirize the 2024 election due to Parker’s statement, “It’s challenging to find fresh perspectives on Trump.”

Stone elaborated to Vanity Fair, “We’ve tackled four or five presidential elections with South Park, and it’s a mental challenge, almost like an all-consuming force. Granted, it’s crucial, but we simply enjoy ourselves less.

Another factor contributing to the extended gap between seasons is that the duo are “waiting for Paramount to sort out their issues,” Parker explained, referring to the ongoing $200 million lawsuit between Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery over the streaming rights and specials for South Park.

In this production team, Parker and Stone share the role as executive producers, joined by longtime colleagues Anne Garefino and Frank C. Agnone II. The group of producers consists of Eric Stough, Adrien Beard, Bruce Howell, and Vernon Chatman. Christopher Brion holds the position of Creative Director at South Park Digital Studios.

South Park season 27 premieres July 9 on Comedy Central, with new episodes airing on Wednesdays.
