South Park to Bring Back Surprise Character From Its Banned Episodes

The long-running cartoon show South Park is gearing up for a new season this year, and the first glimpse of Season 27 hints at the return of a character who was absent due to controversial episodes in the past. Given its lengthy run and wide array of offbeat topics, it’s not uncommon for some South Park episodes to get pulled from circulation. Many of the series’ most iconic episodes can no longer be found on streaming platforms, making them difficult to rewatch, and consequently, certain characters become less accessible too.

In July, season 27 of the animated series “South Park” will begin, marking its first full season in several years. A sneak peek at the upcoming episodes hints at some outrageous previews of what’s to come. Not only do we see fresh perspectives on familiar topics, but it seems that Moses is making a comeback. He was last seen in the memorable two-part episode “200” and “201,” which has since been prohibited due to its representation of a religious figure.

Moses Returns in South Park Season 27

The Stick of Truth” and “South Park: The Fractured But Whole.” However, his last significant appearance in the actual television series is now difficult to watch. Specifically, episodes “200” and “201,” which were part of Season 14, marked a significant milestone for creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone by bringing back almost every character and celebrity that had been featured up to that point. This also included the return of some more contentious characters like Muhammad.

Previously stirring controversy due to their portrayal of Muhammad in the “Super Best Friends” episode, which was banned, the recent special has once again featured this deity and consequently been removed from streaming platforms and regular broadcast schedules. Fans can only catch it if they have the DVD or other home media versions available, making Moses’ return particularly exciting since he hasn’t been seen for a while. Now we’re eagerly awaiting to find out what new adventures he has in store.

When Does South Park Season 27 Come Out?

I’m excitedly looking forward to my personal observation of the premiere of “South Park” Season 27, airing on Comedy Central this coming Wednesday, July 9th. The trailer for the show is quite extensive, given that it’s still a few months away (usually, the animated series releases episodes closer to the date). This intriguingly suggests a complex narrative in the works. Moreover, characters like Moses and Starvin’ Marvin, who have been absent for years, are making their comeback. It seems we’re in store for a major event-like storyline.

In the past, these types of storylines were only available on exclusive South Park streaming specials via Paramount+. However, recent developments suggest that there might be more of the animated series coming our way than fans have seen since the pandemic affected production significantly. The new episodes are set to air in July, so we won’t have to wait much longer to find out what’s next.
