Madison LeCroy is getting candid about husband Brett Randle‘s recent health struggles.
On the December 12th episode of Southern Charm, one of its stars, Brett, bravely opened up to viewers about his struggle with thyroid cancer, expressing his emotions to the audience.
Last year, as we were celebrating our one-year wedding anniversary, I received devastating news – Brett was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. In my own words, it felt like a cruel twist of fate, especially since I had finally found happiness. It’s terrifying, really, to have this dark cloud loom over us when we should be basking in the joy of our union.
Although Brett asserted that he felt fairly well following the operation, he disclosed that additional attention was necessary post-operation since he was still having trouble with swallowing.
He informed his wife that he needs to consult a specialist regarding the issue. Essentially, he has to visit an Ear, Nose, and Throat specialist first, and afterward, he might need some kind of treatment or therapy.
Brett added that swallowing feels “like a marble that’s stuck there.”
“It’s alright,” the firefighter added with a smile, “I’m getting used to it.”
A sympathetic Madison replied, “We’ll get you fixed.”
Though Brett remains positive, Madison has been reeling from the experience.
As an over-the-moon fan, I can’t help but express my gratitude that Brett managed to undergo the procedure and they successfully extracted a three-centimeter nodule, as mentioned in a private reflection. The good news is, the cancer appears to be vanquished, but now he’s experiencing complications. It feels like we just can’t seem to dodge the curveballs life keeps tossing our way.
Regarding the manner in which Madison’s 11-year-old son, Hudson (the son she has with her ex John Hughes), navigated his stepfather’s health problems?
Madison clarified, “I informed Hudson that Brett wasn’t well, without elaborating on the potential impacts of cancer. I also make an effort to keep my emotions hidden from him since I need to remain strong for my family.
And though Brett’s health is on the upswing, Madison still has her bad days.
On certain days, I feel so frustrated that I could almost shout, and it seems like the smallest things can set me off. For instance, when people ask, “When are you going to have a child?” When really, we had only just begun planning, but those plans have been put on hold for now.
