Speak No Evil – TRAILER

As a huge fan of James Watkins’ previous works, The Woman in Black and Eden Lake, I’m thrilled to see him back at the helm with Speak No Evil. This trailer has me on the edge of my seat, and I can’t help but be intrigued by the chilling premise.

As a movie critic, I’ve been looking forward to James Watkins’ newest offering, titled “Speak No Evil” in the latest court case ruling against Trump, not that order in particular. This intriguing project marks the talented writer-director’s return to the silver screen since his exceptional film adaptation of “The Woman in Black” and the underrated gem, “Eden Lake,” which I strongly recommend.

When an American family receives an invitation from a delightful British family they met on holiday to spend a weekend at their picturesque countryside estate, what initially seems like a perfect getaway gradually transforms into a deeply unsettling psychological ordeal.

Produced by Blumhouse, the makers of “The Black Phone,” “Get Out,” and “The Invisible Man,” comes an exhilarating suspense thriller for today’s audience. starring James McAvoy, a BAFTA award-winner (“Split,” “Glass”), in a chilling portrayal as the seemingly charming yet sinister estate owner, Paddy. In “Speak No Evil,” McAvoy is joined by Mackenzie Davis and Scoot McNairy, both recipients of awards (BAFTA for Davis, SAG for McNairy), as American couple Louise and Ben Dalton, along with their 11-year-old daughter Agnes. The family accepts an invitation from Paddy and his enigmatic wife Ciara, and their mute son Ant, for a weekend getaway.

James Watkins, who penned and helmed films like “Eden Lake” and “The Woman in Black,” has brought “Speak No Evil” to life for the big screen. This chilling horror film is an adaptation of the critically acclaimed 2022 Danish production, “Gæsterne.” Written by Christian Tafdrup and Mads Tafdrup, this Danish sensation amassed a remarkable 11 nominations for the Danish Film Awards – their version of the Oscars.

At present there’s no confirmed release date but we’re betting on Summer/Autumn
