In her own fresh start, Spider-Gwen from another reality finds herself stranded on Earth-616 in unusual circumstances. On this journey, she’s teamed up with Loki, become part of the TVA, and uncovered a reality-bending Cosmic Cube. Let’s not forget her ongoing rivalry with a classic Spider-Man villain. As one phase ends, another begins as Spider-Gwen’s comic series gets rebooted. This new run guarantees continuous changes for the Ghost-Spider, introducing a new suit and abilities to look forward to.

In August, Marvel is launching “All-New Spider-Gwen: The Ghost-Spider” #1, penned by Stephanie Phillips and illustrated by Paolo Villanelli. Currently working on “Spider-Gwen: The Ghost-Spider”, their work in July will conclude the series, serving as a prelude to the fresh direction Marvel is taking with the comic this autumn. The cover art for the issue, created by David Marquez, unveils the new costume that Spider-Gwen dons for the relaunch, which bears a strong resemblance to Ghost-Spider’s iconic ensemble from the comics and Sony’s “Spider-Verse” animated films.

As a supporter, I’m excited to share that my favorite superhero, Spider-Gwen, has undergone a stylish makeover! Instead of her costume being white, it now boasts a sleek black base with striking white circles for her eyes. The black color has been extended to her arms and legs, giving her a more formidable look. But don’t worry, she’s still rocking her signature jacket hoodie. To complement the purple hues in her costume, she’s wearing matching purple sneakers. Marvel hinted at a new costume and powers for Spider-Gwen during her partnership with Loki, and this transformation aligns with those teased changes, as seen in her latest comic series.

In simpler terms, Phillips said to Collider that what some might call “new powers,” are actually powers from the past that will help Gwen reconnect with her origins. He didn’t reveal much more, but you can expect Gwen to explain these powers and share them with readers in due time.

Instead, let’s say this: Gwen Stacy, AKA Spider-Gwen, has decided to settle down on Earth-616 permanently, and she’s also forming a new band.

For Gwen, this fresh beginning signifies opportunities, Phillips explained. She’s been burdened by her past experiences, but now she’s at a point where she can construct something novel – new friendships, a fresh purpose, and perhaps even rediscovering aspects of herself that have been dormant for some time… or, perhaps resurfacing traits we haven’t witnessed in a while. This is similar to joining a band and playing music again.

Whenever Marvel chooses to reintroduce a comic series, they strive to make it welcoming for new fans by offering clear starting points. A great method for achieving this is by refreshing a character’s appearance and power set. For instance, alterations to Gwen’s powers might include restoring her Spider-Man abilities as she currently borrows them from the symbiote she wears. Could it be that the Cosmic Cube we mentioned earlier plays a role in these changes?

In her escapades with the Time Variance Authority (TVA), Spider-Gwen unveiled the TV Universe’s version of Scarlet Witch. Gwen works for the TVA’s Research & Advancements Department’s field team, alongside characters displaced across universes such as Gwen Stacy/Ghost-Spider, Peggy Carter/Captain Carter, and Remy LeBeau/Gambit. During her mission, she stumbled upon a concealed department called the Department of Deferment, which had Scarlet Witch in stasis, mirroring her condition at the end of “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”. The artist for TVA, Pere Perez, verified on Instagram that this character is indeed played by Elizabeth Olsen.
