Spider-Man Is Doomed in Marvel's 8 Deaths of Spider-Man Preview

As a seasoned Marvel aficionado with a lifetime of comic book adventures under my belt, I must say that the upcoming storyline in Amazing Spider-Man #61, titled “8 Deaths of Spider-Man,” has me thoroughly intrigued! The thought of our friendly neighborhood wall-crawler being bestowed eight extra lives by none other than Doctor Doom is a tantalizing prospect.

In the storyline “8 Deaths of Spider-Man,” starting with Amazing Spider-Man #61 in November, written by Joe Kelly (of Deadpool & Wolverine: WWIII fame) and Ed McGuinness (known for his work on Hulk), the web-slinger is given a significant task by Doctor Doom, who holds the title of Sorcerer Supreme. This responsibility? Die repeatedly while saving the world from the Scions of Cyttorak. The deity of destruction has bestowed powers upon characters like Juggernaut and others such as Cyrios, Cyra, and Callix, so Spidey will require a suit fortified with magic and plenty of backup lives to combat the red horde of Cyttorak.

In this upcoming release from Marvel Comics, fans get a sneak peek at a four-page spread featuring Spider-Man, now armed with mystical green webbing for casting spells, engaged in combat against the first incarnation of Cyttorak’s chosen one, known as the Scion.
