Spider-Man Series Just Broke a Major Record with Two-Season Renewal!

The popular Disney series will continue airing for some time yet, as it has been renewed again following its impressive run.

The popular children’s superhero series, “Spidey and His Amazing Friends,” has been granted an additional two seasons, extending its run to six seasons altogether. This early renewal comes before the show’s fourth season premieres on June 16th. The series currently ranks as the second most-watched streaming show among children and boys aged 2-5 in the United States, which likely contributed to this early renewal.

The significant update for “Spidey and His Amazing Friends” has not only broken a significant record for the renowned Marvel character, but it’s also on track to hit the milestone of 100 episodes in its forthcoming fourth season. Moreover, this upcoming season will mark a historic first as well.

Disney Doubles Down on Animation

Among several significant animated series announcements, Disney Branded Television revealed plans to increase the number of episodes for “Spidey and His Amazing Friends“, which was unveiled before the presentation at the Annecy International Film Festival for Disney Jr. and Disney Channel.

Disney Branded Television’s boss Ayo Davis expressed that Annecy serves as an ideal setting to highlight the innovative spirit and worldwide might of their children’s animation catalog. In essence, from daring new creations like “Sam Witch” to returning favorites such as “Marvel’s Spidey and his Amazing Friends” and “SuperKitties,” along with our expanding collection of original shorts, we are constructing a robust offering centered around the world’s most adored characters, tailored to how kids consume content today.

The popular show “SuperKitties” has been given a green light for a fourth installment. Additionally, the “Ariel” adaptation of “The Little Mermaid” is returning for Season 2, as well as “RoboGobo”. At Annecy, Disney will unveil sneak peeks for “Dragon Striker” and the second season of “SuperKitties: Su-Purr Adventures”.

First aired on Disney Junior in 2021, the series Spidey and His Amazing Friends centers around a young Peter Parker, along with Gwen Stacy, as they confront well-known Marvel villains such as Rhino, Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin, Black Cat, Sandman, Electro, Lizard, and many others. Additionally, the show includes appearances by other beloved Marvel superheroes like Black Panther, Iron Man, Hulk, Ant-Man, Wasp, Ms. Marvel, Captain America, and Squirrel Girl, among others.

For the initial two seasons, Benjamin Valic portrayed Peter Parker, but Alkaio Thiele stepped into the role starting from then. Meanwhile, Carter Young is set to take over as Miles Morales from Jakari Fraser in Season 4. In a return, Audrey Bennett will voice Gwen Stacy, having debuted in Season 3, with Lily Sanfelippo previously providing her voice.

Spidey and His Amazing Friends is streaming on Disney+.
