Spider-Noir's Lamorne Morris Says Spider-Man Spinoff Is "Insane" (Exclusive)

As a long-time comic book enthusiast who’s seen his fair share of ups and downs in the world of pop culture, I can confidently say that the upcoming “Spider-Noir” series on Prime Video has me genuinely excited! With the enigmatic Nicolas Cage reprising his role as Spider-Noir and the talented Lamorne Morris breathing life into Robbie Robertson, this spinoff promises to be a visual feast for fans like myself.

In 2018, the animated hit movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse introduced lesser-known Spider-Man characters to the big screen, one of which was “Spider-Noir,” voiced by Nicolas Cage. This version of Peter Parker turned out to be quite captivating and is now getting a live-action series on Prime Video titled Spider-Noir. Cage will reprise his role in the series, with Lamorne Morris from Fargo and New Girl joining as Robbie Robertson. Although details about Morris’ portrayal of the character are scarce, he teased that the upcoming spinoff is going to be “crazy.”

Morris hinted to ComicBook about the upcoming project, saying he can’t reveal many details due to a secrecy agreement. He did mention, however, that it will offer an extraordinary television experience, something never seen before. The team’s ideas are truly mind-blowing, as he himself found it hard to believe. Morris is thrilled to portray Robbie Robertson in this production, and you can expect a touch of his signature style, Lamorne, in the character. Although he can’t share much more, he believes fans will be delighted with the final product.

Earlier, the actor had shared his enthusiasm about being part of the venture, mentioning that it was a dream or long-held ambition for him.

Morris expressed to Deadline that he’s excited about playing a character in a non-reality-based setting, working alongside seasoned veterans who can offer valuable lessons. He added that as someone raised on comics and animation, this project merges those realms, creating an incredible opportunity. It brings together the comic book world, live-action, and stars like Nicolas Cage and Brendan Gleeson. Needless to say, being a part of such a distinguished group is a dream come true for him.

In partnership with actor Lamorne Morris, Mike’s Hard Lemonade is organizing an interactive pop-up event called the “Mike’s Jobstacle Course” on August 20th in New York City. This event aims to illustrate that even the simplest jobs can be challenging. To demonstrate this, participants (ages 21 and above) will have the chance to try various ‘easy’ jobs such as being a weatherperson, a bookseller, or a candy taste-tester. The goal is to show that every job has its tough moments, and after a hard day, a refreshing Mike’s Hard Lemonade can be just what you need.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t wait to keep you posted about the thrilling events of Spider-Noir! Mark your calendars for August 20th, as The Mike’s Jobstacle Course is set to take over 477 Broadway in New York City from 2 – 8 p.m. ET. Don’t miss out on this action-packed adventure! Secure your spot by RSVPing at mikesjobstaclecourse.eventbrite.com.
