The narrative-driven single-player action game titled “SPINE” is set to debut simultaneously on Nintendo Switch 2 and the platforms previously mentioned – PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam, according to the developers at Nekki. However, a specific launch date remains undisclosed as of now.
Here are the latest details:
What is Freeflow Gun Fu?
Today’s trailer highlights the Freeflow Gun Fu battles in SPINE, where the main character, Redline, fluidly transitions from one enemy to another, dodging attacks, disarming them, and using their weapons against them in smooth combos. Players can get creative by exploiting the game’s environment against Redline’s adversaries – pinning enemies against surfaces, tossing them off ledges, and improvising melee weapons for breathtaking fight scenes that are unique each time due to the dynamic environment.
In the words of SPINE’s director, Dmitry Pimenov, “Freeflow Gun Fu combat requires constant strategic vigilance, not just toward your adversaries but also the battlefield itself.” For us at SPINE, it’s all about crafting a captivating cinematic experience while providing players full control over their actions. Our goal is to let players feel like they are both the lead actor and director of their very own action film. By mastering our combo system and utilizing the environment, players can earn chances for inventive takedowns, and we’ll highlight their combos with dynamic camera angles to fully immerse them in the thrill of combat.
Hardcore Mode
The trailer additionally previews a sneak peek of the Hardcore mode in SPINE. In SPINE, a cinematic take on “no-hit” gaming is presented where Redline wears sunglasses that stay unbroken if the player successfully navigates the game without getting hit by enemies.
