Splatoon 3 Reveals August Food Themed Splatfest Winner

As a seasoned Splatoon enthusiast and a self-proclaimed connoisseur of all things culinary, I must say that this weekend’s food-themed Splatfest in Splatoon 3 was an absolute delight! The tension was palpable as Team Bread, Team Rice, and Team Pasta battled it out for supremacy. Though I was rooting for the pasta-loving Frye, the final results left me pleasantly surprised – Team Rice took home the trophy!

As a passionate gamer and food enthusiast with years of experience under my belt, I must say the recent Splatfest competition in Splatoon 3 was one for the books! The theme of choosing which food one would eat every single day really struck a chord with me, as I too have had to make tough decisions about my daily sustenance.

As a veteran Splatoon player with countless hours spent squidding through ink-soaked battlefields, I must say that today’s Splatfest results left me feeling a bit underwhelmed. Team Rice may have emerged victorious, but it was a narrow win and the points distribution seemed a tad lopsided in my opinion. The Sneak Peek category awarding 90 points felt a bit too generous compared to the Tri-Color Battles at 180 points. However, I must admit that Team Rice did secure the majority of votes, which is always an important factor.

The upcoming Splatfest is scheduled for September 12th, and Nintendo is hyping this one up as a significant event. This special tournament asks players to choose what matters most to them: past, present, or future. While Nintendo hasn’t confirmed that this will be the final Splatfest in the game, many fans are speculating that the outcome of this Splatfest could influence the plot of the next game in the series. The Callie vs. Marie Splatfest in the original Splatoon had a profound effect on the storyline for Splatoon 2, which then set up Splatoon 3 with the Chaos vs. Order Splatfest. If the Grand Festival event does have a major impact on the next game, it’s still plausible that we could see more Splatfests or even reprised events like in Splatoon 2.

Although Nintendo hasn’t officially confirmed a fourth Splatoon game yet, the series has gained immense popularity, particularly in Japan. The release of Splatoon 2 on the Nintendo Switch was just four months after its debut, and it’s plausible that we might witness a similar scenario with the “Nintendo Switch 2.” If rumors are to be believed, Nintendo’s successor to the Switch could hit the market in 2025, with an announcement expected before March 31, 2025.
