Electronic Arts, along with developers at Hazelight, have unveiled a trailer showcasing cooperative gameplay for their two-player, split-screen action-adventure title, “Split Fiction.
Here is an overview of the game, via Electronic Arts:
About
Delve into astonishing scenarios as you explore the multiple realms of Split Fiction, an innovative cooperative journey from the creators of It Takes Two. Characters Mio and Zoe are unique authors who find themselves imprisoned within their own narratives after being connected to a device that steals creative thoughts. They must rely on each other to escape, collaborating to learn various skills and conquer a range of challenges while navigating between science fiction and fantasy universes in this unforeseen tale about camaraderie.
Key Features
- True Cooperative Adventure – This split-screen adventure is tailored for two. Experience cooperative gameplay where you’ll have to coordinate your actions and timing as well as work together to overcome challenges. Invite a partner to join you for free, for cross-platform play, with the Friend’s Pass*.
- Unparalleled Variety – Discover new mechanics and abilities in every level of your adventure, which will alternate between sci-fi and fantasy settings. Escape a sun that’s going supernova, challenge a monkey to a dance battle, try out some cool hoverboard tricks, fight an evil kitty and more. Experience worlds that are entirely different from each other, unexpected new abilities, and a range of gameplay that includes platforming, stealth, puzzles, and more.
- The Power of Friendship – Mio and Zoe don’t get along at first, but soon enough they become each other’s only hopes. This journey will throw unexpected twists at them and if they want to make it through, they’ll need to have each other’s backs. They’ll encounter both bizarre situations as they traverse stories born from their own wild imaginations. Most importantly—they’ll face it all together.
As an enthusiast, I need to install the “Friend’s Pass,” maintain a constant internet connection, and have a valid account on the required platform. Crucially, one of us needs to possess the complete game for the second player to enjoy the full gaming experience cooperatively.
Split Fiction is due out for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam on March 6.
