Split Fiction Sells 1 Million Copies in 48 Hours

Following the milestone of 250,000 simultaneous players on Steam over the weekend, Hazelight Studios revealed that they had achieved one million unit sales within their initial 48 hours. Notably, it took It Takes Two a month to reach one million sales (and has since sold approximately 23 million units in total throughout its lifetime).

24 hours after its release, the cooperative action-adventure game has maintained high player engagement, with approximately 240,000 concurrent gamers on Steam at its peak. The title is also playable on Xbox Series X/S and PS5. The narrative follows two aspiring writers, Mio and Zoe, as they journey through various science fiction and fantasy realms within a perilous simulation.

To thrive and make an escape, they need to lean on one another as they traverse cyberpunk landscapes brimming with mechs, gravity-defying maneuvers, and motorbikes. Alternatively, they might explore magical realms, engaging in battles while mastering the art of dragon taming. There’s also an option where they transform into pigs, but you’ll have to discover that yourself. For more information, check out our review.

In just the first 48 hours, SPLIT FICTION flew off shelves, selling an astonishing 1 MILLION units! Your enthusiasm for our game is simply staggering! 😍 Each member of Hazelight Studios can’t help but be ecstatic – and we’re absolutely thrilled by your fantastic responses! 🤩 #SplitFiction
