The tantalizing glimpse we got in the reveal trailer has left me craving for more, and the news that it will be playable at this year’s Gamescom is music to my ears.
At the recent announcement, 1047 Games introduced the anticipated sequel, Splitgate 2. Although a cinematic trailer is currently the only sneak peek we’ve had of the game, the studio intends to share more at this year’s Gamescom, happening in Cologne, Germany from August 21 to 25.
On Xbox Wire, Hilary Goldstein from 1047 Games’ marketing team announced that the upcoming game “Splitgate 2” will be showcased at Gamescom. It’s uncertain if a gameplay trailer for the title will be released then or even before, but it’s likely we’ll see one soon.
At Gamescom 2024, you’ll have the opportunity to form your own opinion about “Splitgate 2” as it becomes playable, according to Goldstein’s post on Xbox Wire. For the time being, he can’t disclose much information. However, he did share that the team aimed to create a game that presented a suitable level of difficulty while remaining accessible. Additionally, players would be given the chance to make significant decisions before entering the arena. Lastly, they strived for an visually appealing design.
It’s worth noting that Goldstein mentioned that although Splitgate 2’s reveal trailer lacks real gameplay footage, it still provides an accurate portrayal of various aspects of the game, including its maps and weapons.
I can confirm that those are authentic maps and weapons from Splitgate 2. And yes, there’s a trail appearing behind you as you step through a portal.
