As a lifelong fan of anime and espionage thrillers, I can confidently say that the upcoming release of “Spy X Family Code: White” is a momentous occasion for me. Having followed the series since its inception, I’ve grown quite attached to the Forger family and their intricate web of secrets. The film’s unique blend of high-stakes espionage with the innocent antics of a telepathic child has always been a winning formula, and I eagerly await the addition of this cinematic masterpiece to my streaming library.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t contain my excitement! The Forgers – the family at the heart of the sensational anime movie, Spy X Family Code: White – are making their way home for Christmas! This December, Netflix will be graced with its streaming presence, and Prime Video won’t be far behind.
In an attempt to uncover Ostania’s political leader Donovan Desmond, Twilight disguises Anya Forger, who is not his real daughter, in Eden Academy, a highly regarded school. However, his investigation becomes tricky as Anya possesses telepathic abilities and Yor Briar, the woman he claims to be married to, is known for her assassin skills. Yet, they are all unaware of each other’s hidden truths.
Following two highly triumphant seasons, “Spy X Family” embarked on its undercover operation to the big screen with the feature-length movie titled “Spy X Family Code: White“. Unveiled in cinemas in 2023, “Spy X Family Code: White” garnered impressive feedback from both spectators and experts. The film boasted a 94% approval rating among critics and an even more remarkable 98% approval score from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. Additionally, the movie raked in a significant $59 million during its global box office run last year.
Instead of sticking to Tatsuya Endo’s manga, the animated series Code: White deviates and presents an entirely new tale. When the Forgers embark on their first family trip to the country of Frigis, Anya’s playful tricks unknowingly jeopardize global harmony, causing a ruthless gang of assassins to pursue her. Like the series, the movie combines the gravity of real-world spy missions during the brink of war with the humor of a psychic child who adores peanuts and anime. The official summary goes, “While under the pretense of a weekend winter retreat, Loid finds it challenging to advance his mission Operation Strix as Anya accidentally gets entangled and sets off events that could potentially disrupt world peace!
The animated film “Spy × Family: Code White” is currently available for streaming on Crunchyroll. Starting December 21st, it’s also heading to Netflix for holiday viewing. Amazon Prime Video has also announced that they will stream “Code: White,” though they haven’t specified which regions or a specific release date yet.
If you’ve finished binge-watching both seasons of Spy X Family and have caught Code: White in cinemas as well as Crunchyroll, you don’t have long to wait for more! In fact, it was announced back in July that Season 3 is currently being developed. Art director Yuni Yoshida even shared a poster featuring Anya on her bedroom floor with Loid and Yor checking up on her. Unfortunately, no specific release date has been given yet. Here’s the poster for Season 3:
