Following the unexpected events during the school break, the latest arc of Spy x Family commences as Anya embarks on a new term at school, discovering that classes are organized based on grades. As she navigates her daily life at school, Yor finds herself embroiled in a fresh mission. The secretive organization Garden, where she’s employed, remains enveloped in mystery. Despite its long history, due to the scarcity of information about its members, it is often considered an urban myth. These covert operatives working for Garden safeguard Ostania from the background. Although they operate without official recognition, each action they take, even if seemingly extreme, is for the welfare of the kingdom.
Similar to WISE, the organization Loid is employed by, Garden strives to prevent a war between Westania and Ostania at any cost. Yet, unlike Garden, which was introduced earlier in the series, it wasn’t until now that we learned about other assassins apart from Yor and Matthew. This secretive group is composed of skilled and formidable operatives, just like Yor, who tackle a variety of perilous missions. In Chapter 115 of Spy x Family, two additional members of Garden make their appearance as Yor embarks on a new mission.
Spy x Family Chapter 115 Introduces Hemlock and Gympie
In the opening of this thrilling tale, I find myself in a pivotal encounter with Wilker, the head honcho of the State Security Service. He presents me with intriguing files that catch my attention and enlist my aid. However, it’s not just any matter at stake – it’s the illicit poaching of the elusive Miteran elk, a precious and rare creature. This shadowy operation has been ongoing for quite some time, and they’ve even established connections in the Western world. Following our meeting with Wilker, I’m visited by Yor, Matthew, Hemlock, and Gympie – an ominous assemblage of assassins.
In this fictional universe, the characters Hemlock and Gympie go by pseudonyms rather than their real names, both being plant-themed. Hemlock is a tall man with long hair who often clashes with Yor, albeit with underlying tensions. During an instance when Yor was engrossed in the Shopkeeper’s flowers, Hemlock attempted to throw a knife at her, but she skillfully caught it. As for Gympie, it’s challenging to tell his age due to him concealing half of his face, making it unclear if he is a child or an adult. He seems to have a better relationship with Yor compared to Hemlock. The narrative provides a tantalizing peek into the world Endo is developing, hinting at potential high-octane action scenes ahead.
Following their decision to send Yor and Matthew on a mission together, it became clear that another team member was necessary. Given Yor’s strained relationship with Hemlock, Gympie suggested Thistle, an absent assassin who might be available. However, surprisingly, Hemlock offered to join them instead. This confirmation that their mission would not be enjoyable was underscored by Hemlock’s renewed threat towards Yor, who is afraid of bugs. The series has recently introduced two more characters, but the hint in the East-West games suggests we might see additional members soon. The idea of a team led by Garden, filled with Ostanian talents, dominating a soccer match is intriguing, much like the fun we had during the Campbelldon Tennis Arc. Therefore, it’s likely that we will meet more characters, possibly including Thistle, in the upcoming chapters of Spy x Family.
