Square Enix announces multiplayer murder mystery action game KILLER INN for PC

Developers Square Enix and Tactic Studios have unveiled “KILLER INN”, a multiplayer murder mystery action game. A closed beta testing phase is scheduled for PC through Steam, with specific dates yet to be disclosed. Interested users can apply for access to the test via the game’s Steam page at this time.

Who is a wolf…?

24 individuals will participate in a unique, one-time murder mystery event. Among you, some will assume the roles of wolves, whereas others will portray lambs.

Wolves need to blend with the sheep, concealing their real character while biding time for the perfect opportunity to attack. However, don’t worry little sheep, the odds are in your favor.

Expect a state of turmoil, doubt your neighbors, and prepare for intense, bloody conflicts. Rest assured, you’ll live through an unforgettable experience, as exhilarating as it may be temporary.

Clues Will Lead You to the Truth

Every crime scene contains clues: hair, fingerprints, blood, clothing…

As I collect more and more hints, I’m slowly but surely whittling down the list of suspects. Each clue brings me closer to figuring out who the guilty party might be in this game.

The Rules

Winning is simple: eliminate the opposing team!

In this struggle for dominance, it’s a matter of survival between the wolves and sheep. Will the numerically superior sheep emerge victorious, or will the cunning and elusive wolves, able to blend in with the flock, ultimately rule supreme?

However, the cleverest of lambs have another path to victory: escape.

Could you manage to escape from the castle? The task involves obtaining the keys to the harbor gate first and then hoisting the anchors. Seems simple enough, doesn’t it? However, do remember that not everyone working with you can be fully trusted.

Fight to Survive

Instead of debating and blame-giving, discover who the perpetrator is, then prepare for battle. Your strength or intelligence will determine your survival. Lack thereof means joining the pile of bodies in the corridor.

Kill However You Like

An array of items are hidden in the castle:

Guns and melee weapons to give yourself a fighting chance.
Traps and poisons perfect for murder.
Armor and gas masks to protect oneself.

There’s no one sure-fire strategy. Your path to victory is shaped by your playstyle.

Focus Mode

Tune up your awareness and watch your environment spring into vivid detail. Focus Mode enables you to spot traces of a criminal like footsteps, spent bullets, and shards of glass, or even hear sounds that pass through walls.

Immersive Voice Chat With 3D Audio

Would you prefer to discuss something privately? Let’s move to another room and make sure the door is closed. KILLER INN features 3D audio voice chat that considers players’ locations, their distances from each other, and the surroundings. Not a fan of voice chat? You can also interact using a variety of emotes and stamps instead.

Unique Characters, Endless Strategies

Which character would you prefer to embody? Feel free to reshape yourself by taking on any personality that appeals to you. Each persona brings its own distinct talents. They could be stealthy figures, sharp detectives, or skilled pickpockets. Employ their strengths to craft your approach and change the game.

Play Solo, or in a Duo, Trio, or Squad!

No matter if you play alone or with companions, an extraordinary game is ready for you. Assemble a team of savvy investigators, or transform into a sly group of wolves. Maintain communication with your fellow players using voice chat, regardless of physical distance.
