Squid Game: Season 2 Finale’s Biggest Scene Includes Cameraman in Plain Sight

In the climactic scene of the Season 2 finale of “Squid Game,” viewers discerned an unusual detail: a cameraman was present, adding to the intrigue of this popular Netflix series. Unlike traditional TV viewing where episodes air weekly, “Squid Game 2” was released all at once in December. This format allows viewers to savor each episode instead of binge-watching, which might explain why it took fans some time to spot the cameraman casually standing amidst the cast as they fired their guns at the red-uniformed soldiers.

In my perspective as a passionate movie enthusiast, I’d rephrase it like this: “I’ve spotted some unusual action in the Squid Game 2 finale! During Episode 7, around the 22-minute mark, while the cast is engaged in a fierce shootout with soldiers, a cameraman, easily missed by casual viewers, is seen filming the scene. He’s dressed in all black and holds a camera. Upon pausing the video, it becomes evident that this individual was indeed part of the production team.

In the course of events related to the Squid Games production, I find myself in an unfortunate position. It appears that one of our team members, a cameraman, has unintentionally made an appearance in the backdrop during an episode, which is against our protocol for maintaining immersion and professionalism. As a result, tough decisions are being made, and it seems that this individual may be leaving the team. I’m deeply saddened by this development and hope for the best for everyone involved as we move forward with the production.

Users on platform X jumped right in to poke fun at the error regarding Squid Game, with someone suggesting that the second installment of Squid Game was hastily produced and released before 2025 to meet deadlines, which might have led to the oversight and neglect of a cameraman. Some users expressed frustration as they hadn’t watched it yet and were unintentionally spoiled by the discussion.

Squid Game joins other shows where things accidentally made it into episodes

It’s not uncommon for viewers to find something unexpected in a TV show that wasn’t intended to be there. A recent and highly discussed example took place during the final season of “Game of Thrones”. In the fourth episode, an unmistakable coffee cup was seen beside Daenerys in the Winterfell dining room, which is unusual considering the setting’s medieval context.

Indeed, there were some visual effects (VFX) flaws spotted in the Game of Thrones prequel series, House of the Dragon, such as King Viserys’ missing fingers, and a film crew’s presence in an episode of The Last of Us. Rest assured, these types of errors occur sometimes during production, but they are typically corrected post-production.

Squid Game 2 is now available to stream on Netflix, along with Squid Game Season 1.
