In the climactic scene of Squid Game Season 2, viewers found an intriguing detail: a camera operator seemingly slipped into the action. This suspenseful series, which has gained immense popularity on Netflix, premiered as Squid Game 2 in December. Despite all episodes being made available simultaneously, the streaming format allows viewers to watch at their own pace rather than binge-watching right away. It’s this leisurely viewing that might explain why it took fans so long to spot the cameraman casually standing among the Squid Game cast as they fired guns at the red-uniformed soldiers.
In a recent post on X (previously Twitter), I excitedly shared an interesting find during my binge-watch of Squid Game 2’s finale: a cameraman was spotted in the background during Episode 7, around the 22nd minute! The cast is engaged in a fierce gun battle with soldiers, and amidst the action, a figure in all black, holding a camera, can be seen capturing footage. It happens so swiftly that it’s easy to overlook while casually watching, but once you pause the video, it’s quite noticeable! Given this unexpected appearance, it seems likely that this cameraman might find himself out of the Squid Games team.
It has been announced that a member of the Squid Games production team will be dismissed, following an incident where a cameraman was accidentally caught on camera during the broadcast of an episode.

Users on platform X swiftly jumped in to poke fun at a mistake in the Squid Game, with one individual suggesting that the second installment was hastily produced to be released prior to 2025. This rush may have put pressure on the editing crew, leading them to overlook and miss the presence of a cameraman. Other users voiced their frustration about having the season spoiled for them as they hadn’t watched it yet.
Squid Game joins other shows where things accidentally made it into episodes
In the world of television viewing, it’s not uncommon for fans to find something unexpected in an episode that wasn’t intended to be there. A recent and highly discussed instance took place during the final season of “Game of Thrones.” Specifically, the fourth episode featured Daenerys Targaryen, played by Emilia Clarke, seated in a Winterfell dining room with a coffee cup casually placed beside her.
Indeed, errors such as VFX glitches were spotted in the House of the Dragon, a spinoff from Game of Thrones, where King Viserys’ missing fingers were noticeable, and a film crew was accidentally included in an episode of The Last of Us. Such oversights occasionally occur during production but are usually corrected later on.
Squid Game 2 is now available to stream on Netflix, along with Squid Game Season 1.
