Stags: Release date, cast, plot and trailer for Paramount Plus series

As a movie enthusiast who’s seen his fair share of survival thrillers and bromantic comedies, I must say that the upcoming series Stags seems to be a unique blend of both genres – a wild ride that promises to keep me on the edge of my seat! The cast looks promising, with familiar faces from shows I enjoy, and the fact that it’s created by Daniel Cullen, who has worked on Breeders and Bad Sisters, adds a layer of anticipation.

In the upcoming six-episode series titled “Stags,” we follow a bachelor party that takes a disastrous turn. It remains uncertain whether the groom-to-be and his friends will manage to escape unscathed, or find themselves battling for survival on a harsh and isolated island prison instead.

According to Sebastian Cardwell, Paramount’s deputy head of content creation, we can expect an exhilarating, captivating journey. In addition, Carissa Hope Lynch, the executive producer, has commended the unique and comically ominous scriptwriting.

“Stags is an exhilarating series, brimming with unexpected turns that will leave even the most seasoned genre enthusiasts surprised,” she remarked. “We’re excited to share this raw story on Paramount Plus.”

Stags plot: What’s it about?

When Stu and his best friends embark on a bachelor party trip to South America, they’re looking forward to a week filled with “drinking, mischief, and laughter.” However, their adventure unexpectedly takes a grim turn.

Instead of returning to the UK on a flight, the deer find themselves imprisoned on a lawless island ruled by two feuding siblings, as suggested in the formal summary.

It swiftly becomes apparent that the deer must choose an alliance if they are to stand a chance of surviving. Long-standing friendships are put to the test, and deep loyalties are forfeited as Stu and his group start to ponder over who among them might return home safely.
