Stalker 2 1.5 update will bring new weapons and “much awaited features” to the survival game next month

GSC Game World is dedicated to continuously updating Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl for several years. According to the game’s Q2 2025 schedule, the development crew working on this survival game is now preparing for the release of the upcoming 1.5 update.

Additionally, Game Development Studio (GDS), as they work on ModKit for the game, have also revealed that a significant upcoming update for their open-world game will introduce several fresh weapon options for gamers to employ.

Stalker 2 1.5 update adds new weapons

In a recent Q&A session at GSC, the creators of Stalker 2 revealed that their upcoming update 1.5 will feature two new weapons. While they didn’t specify which guns would be incorporated into the game, they hinted at the sorts of weaponry players might encounter.

In the upcoming update, you’ll find a fresh “early game rifle” and an entirely new “handgun” integrated into the game’s weapon collection. Details about their specific features are scarce, but they are set to appear in the next significant game update.

“Yes, 1.5 will have two new weapons,” the developer said, “and some other much awaited features”.

The exact release date for the upcoming significant Stalker 2 update is yet to be announced, but the developers at GSC have hinted that it might come out in June. When queried about the update’s launch date, the team stated that they are targeting a release in the next month.

As a dedicated fan, I’m super excited about all the fresh content that GSC Game World is whipping up for Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl! Despite the bumpy start, there’s a solid base to build upon, and the team behind the game has shown a passion for continually enhancing the game with A-Life upgrades, reintroducing cut content, and much more. I can hardly wait to see what they’ve got in store for us!

Moreover, work has begun on the official extensions of the game, providing “unseen viewpoints” of the Zone. Furthermore, a cooperative multiplayer mode is being considered, though an exact launch date hasn’t been announced yet.

At the same time as they’re providing updates for Stalker 2, the team is also focusing efforts on fixing patches for the recently launched Legends of the Zone Trilogy Enhanced Edition games. Unfortunately, these games have been met with criticism due to censorship, new glitches, and graphical problems.
