Stalker 2 Already Got Another Update with a New Set of Patch Notes

As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for post-apocalyptic worlds and a penchant for immersive storylines, I’ve been eagerly diving into the heart of the Exclusion Zone with S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. The game has been a rollercoaster ride, filled with suspense, intrigue, and the occasional bug or two. But I’ve got to hand it to the developers, they’re quick on their feet!

Following the significant first update for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl this week, which addressed numerous bugs, another update has been released for the game. Given the substantial nature of the initial S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 update, it’s not surprising that this follow-up is relatively smaller, focusing on a handful of bug fixes. The bugs being addressed in this case are those that were preventing progression, so while it may be smaller than the previous update, it remains crucial as it ensures smoother gameplay experience.

Hey there fellow Stalker! Heads up, if you’re still deep into your Stalker 2 journey, there might be some spoilers lurking in the update patch notes for version 1.02. But fear not, if you’ve made it far enough or don’t mind a few surprises, feel free to peruse the updates below:

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Patch Notes for Update 1.02

  • Fixed an issue when the second wave of Monolith soldiers would not spawn during the “On the Edge” mission, blocking further progression.
  • Fixed the issue when Richter could be found dead during the “A Minor Incident” mission, blocking further progression.
  • The fixed issue was a player could get stuck after installing the fuse in the Wild Island area if they got the Emitter from Faust’s Cell first during the “Just Like the Good Old Days” mission, blocking further progression.
  • The fixed issue was when a player could not successfully complete the “All That is Left” mission while exploring the Chemical Plant region.
  • Fixed issue when quest enemies could spawn in unreachable areas for a player during the “Down Below” mission, blocking further progression.
  • Fixed an issue when Scar could be missing during the “Visions of Truth” mission.
  • A few more EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION errors are fixed.

If you’re playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 on your PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, or GOG, you should find that Update 1.02 is available for download right now, as per the developer’s announcement. However, players on Xbox or PC Game Pass will need to wait a bit longer for this update, much like how they waited for Update 1.01. The developers hinted that Update 1.02 for Xbox and Microsoft Store would be coming soon, but an exact timeline wasn’t given. Update 1.01 took a few hours to appear on the Xbox and PC Game Pass versions of the game, so those playing there should at least receive Update 1.02 by the end of the day.

GSC Game World, the developer behind S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, hasn’t shown a sneak peek into the upcoming changes after Patch 1.02 yet. However, they did provide information about Patch 1.01 before its release, so it’s reasonable to expect a preview for the next update when it becomes available.

Many individuals who are playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 for the first time in the series find it similar to Fallout because of its backdrop, ideas, and certain creatures that appear. If you’ve been yearning for a new Fallout experience, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 might just fit the bill. However, do keep in mind that this game is quite extensive, so if you intend to play it, make sure to clear some space first.
