Fans are yet to receive the complete development blueprint for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, but GSC Game World studio plans to share another update shortly after the significant patch version 1.3.
The Ukrainian developer has already shared with game enthusiasts what they can anticipate in the upcoming update (via Discord / VideoGamer). One significant change is that certain weapon enhancements will now be attainable before reaching the final stages of the game, as these upgrades have been discovered hidden within the Prypiat Stashes. Essentially, players will be able to acquire these upgrades throughout most of the game, not just after passing the “critical point” and entering the endgame.
The disappointing update is that the provided information pertained to New Game Plus queries. While some enthusiasts continue to anticipate this feature, the developers have yet to offer clear and definitive answers regarding its inclusion. Some ardent Zone supporters contend that starting the game with pre-equipped items contradicts the game’s core principle, where players must work to acquire every aspect, including endings.
It’s possible that the New Game Plus mode could eventually be featured in the second STALKER game, and there’s a chance it may be mentioned in the upcoming roadmap for the sequel. But until then, fans can only look forward to the single confirmed update.
