As a seasoned Stalker, I’ve traversed the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone more times than I can count, and let me tell you, these Arch Artifacts are no joke! They each come with their unique quirks that can make or break your survival in this radioactive wasteland.
As an avid enthusiast, I can’t wait to delve into the rich world of STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl, where every corner seems to hold a mystery waiting to be uncovered. If you’re like me, eager to collect every peculiar artifact hidden within this game, prepare yourself for some thorough exploration. In this guide, I’ll be walking you through the process of locating the ‘arch artifacts’, a unique set of items marked as “odd” or “weird” that possess remarkable abilities.
All Arch Artifact Locations
Before you start the hunt, it should be noted that these artifacts can be found within arch anomalies. In the event that you cannot find your desired artifacts despite being in the correct place, you might need to wait for an emission to pass, then you can check the area again.
Let’s examine every one of these unique items, beginning with a peculiar orb located in the Lesser Zone. Remember to save your progress before you try any of them for safety.
Arch Artifact #1 – The Weird Ball
You’ll discover this location at the peculiar region known as ‘Bulba’, nestled within the ‘Lesser Zone’. Upon arrival, you’ll spot several damaged vehicles around, which will prove beneficial for your survival. Remember to pack some essential healing supplies before venturing forth.
From afar, you’ll notice the peculiarity known as Bulba. It appears to be drawing in anything around it occasionally. Be aware that this close proximity could potentially harm you, and if unfortunate circumstances align, it might even lead to your demise should you get pulled in completely.
As a thrill-seeker, I’d advise utilizing the surrounding vehicles and boulders as shields to avoid getting hit. Whenever it pauses momentarily, dash towards it, then swiftly seek cover before it starts up again.
The strange trinket known as the Weird Ball is hidden directly beneath the Bulba itself, making swift action necessary to retrieve it without meeting an untimely demise. If you find yourself being pulled towards it, simply dash away from its grasp, and immediately tend to your wounds if necessary.
Arch Artifact #2 – The Weird Flower
In the field resembling a poppy, you’ll find what you’re looking for next. The spot is clearly indicated on the map image below; all you have to do is dash towards it and pick it up.
In the strange environment of the Poppy Field, it’s crucial to remember that you’ll have to frequently consume high-energy beverages to stay alert. Falling asleep in this peculiar place could prove fatal for you.
Be sure to establish a hotkey for your energy drinks so you can access them quickly when needed to keep yourself alive. Once you pick up the blue Weird Flower from the ground, run northward immediately since it’s the quickest path to exit the field and examine the flower safely.
Arch Artifact #3 – The Weird Pot
This one is a doozy, as you will need to traverse the Mist anomaly near the border of the Burnt Forest and Duga regions. Make your way over to that location first and then let us go through the things you need to do at this anomalous location.
Whenever you reach the mystical location known as the “Mist”, you’ll observe that the surroundings within this small vicinity alter each time you exit and re-enter. Continue this process until the descending door, which is located outside the residence, can be accessed.
Caution: While moving among the various iterations of this area, there’s a possibility you might run into a vampire-like creature. Keep your weapons at the ready as you approach this artifact!
Head to the door, grab the Door Key located next to the skeleton in the passageway, then proceed through the rest of the tunnel until it takes you back into the house.
After emerging from the tunnel and entering the house, locate the key for the door to your right and unlock it. Pass through that door, and once you’re in the new room, find the doorknob for the door on your right and open it.
Within, there’s an attic that’s currently open for exploration, but it’s inaccessible at this point. To gain entry, you’ll initially have to make your way back outside and venture into the fog to discover another iteration of the house first.
When moving to another part of the location, directly enter the house (not the previous tunnel) and make your way to the familiar room. In this area, you’ll find a stack of boxes that can assist you in ascending to the upper level, which is the attic.
Upstairs, there’s a hidden passageway through a small opening that leads to a new, previously unreachable room. In this secret chamber, you’ll discover the peculiar pot sitting on an open hearth near the bed. With the peculiar pot in your possession, you can now depart from the Misty area and move onto the next challenge!
Arch Artifact #4 – The Weird Bolt
To find the “Weird Bolt”, you should journey to the location known as “Yaniv”. Once you arrive, look for the “Tornado” peculiarity which is situated towards the west of this area in a compound. Remember, prior to venturing into there, ensure you have saved your progress first because there’s a possibility that you might perish while attempting to retrieve it.
Gather your necessary healing equipment, then make your way to the end of the crane located in the west side of the compound by jumping across several containers using parkour skills.
At the peak, you’ll soon experience a tornado. Fill up your HP beforehand to boost your chances of making it through unscathed.
As a fan, when a tornado strikes me, I swiftly regain my footing and scramble upwards, preparing myself to snatch the Whizzing Weird Artifact whizzing past in mid-air. If I miss it, I won’t hesitate to rewind to an earlier save point and give it another shot.
It appears that some users are experiencing an issue where the artifact is not showing up. Refreshing the game might solve the problem temporarily, but if it persists even after multiple tries, please be patient and wait for an upcoming update to resolve it.
Arch Artifact #5 – The Weird Nut
To acquire the mysterious “Weird Nut”, you should make your way towards the peculiar “Fire Vortex” irregularity at the “Cooling Towers”. It’s quite ironic, isn’t it? Remember to pack some medical supplies for healing and possibly even protective gear and items for heat resistance to ensure your survival during this expedition.
As a gamer navigating through this peculiar zone, I’d suggest you explore some vertical challenges to get to the scaffolding that hovers around the central point. You’ve got several routes to choose from, so feel free to find your own path and scale upwards to the upper levels at your convenience.
Simply search for a ladder reaching upward and make your way towards the single platform connected to it, which occasionally gets engulfed by the scaffolding that the Fire Whirl phenomenon whirls into.
Remember, if the Fire Whirl gets too near, the platforms may turn a fiery red. This indicates they’ll cause harm if you step onto them. So, simply wait for it to move farther off before you continue your journey.
The peculiar nut is situated on the dilapidated scaffolding where the arch abnormality frequently ignites. You need to act swiftly, as you’ll have to quickly heal yourself and then descend the scaffolding to escape from the hazardous area.
Arch Artifact #6 – The Weird Water
After dark, I ventured to the peculiar region of Zaton, specifically the Wandering Lights anomaly. There, I meandered aimlessly, hoping to stumble upon the enigmatic Weird Water that’s said to materialize at random spots on the ground.
Maintain your gaze fixed on the ground, since the duration may vary from two minutes to two hours based on your fortune. Some people have reported that it might not be visible at all, making them suspect that there could be an issue with it.
Don’t sweat it too much right now, take your time and come back to look for it again if you can’t find it quickly.
Arch Artifact Effects
Before you go, below is a list that briefly explains what each of these legendary artifacts do:
- Weird Water – Rather than being a consumable, this bottle of water will instead give you a decent amount of resistance to radiation while it is equipped. It has a downside of making you act “drunk” though.
- Weird Nut – This artifact will make your wounds take longer to heal, but in exchange, bleeding will stop being a problem while it is equipped.
- Weird Bolt – Equipping the Weird Bolt will grant you a decent amount of resistance to various damage types (thermal, chemical, and even physical).
- Weird Ball – The Weird Ball is truly strange, as it makes you more resistance to bullet damage but only while you are standing still.
- Weird Flower – Sleeping while this artifact is equipped will make it so that your scent is masked upon waking up, essentially giving you a stealth boost. This effect will fizzle out after a bit of time has passed.
- Weird Pot – It supposedly prevents you from getting hungry, and trying to eat or drink while it is equipped might have some unintended side effects. As of writing this, nobody is sure as to what it does, as some have reported still getting hungry while they have the pot equipped.
And that is everything we know about the arch artifacts in the game right now. At the moment, it seems like our only “must-haves” are the Weird Ball and Weird Bolt, but feel free to leave a comment below if you have figured out some good uses for the other ones!
