Stalker 2: How To Save Zalissya (On The Edge Side Mission)

As a seasoned Stalker, I can’t help but feel a sense of accomplishment as I guide you through the labyrinthine missions of Zalissya. The On the Edge side mission is no exception, and it’s time to tackle Uncle Lyonya, the thorn in everyone’s side.

First things first, we need to get our hands on that elusive PDA of Uncle Lyonya. To do this, we’ll need to navigate to his hut, a place where many a Stalker has tread before but none have returned with the prize. Change the frequency on the radio inside to eavesdrop on his conversation, and before you know it, he’ll be knocking on our door – or rather, the hut’s door.

Brace yourself for an intense battle as Uncle Lyonya and his Monolithian minions come storming in. Fend off their relentless assault and show them who’s boss. Once you’ve taken him down, loot that PDA like a true Stalker treasure hunter.

Now, we can return to Gaffer with Uncle Lyonya’s PDA in tow and complete the mission. As a reward, I’ll be bestowed with a SEVA suit that has PSI protection – not that I needed it, but hey, who am I to turn down an upgrade?

Lastly, let me leave you with this little joke: Why don’t we play hide and seek in the Zone? Because even Uncle Lyonya can’t hide from a Stalker with a good set of binoculars!

In the game Stalker 2, upon finishing the primary objective at the SIRCAA facility, players might discover that Zalissya is absent from the list of locations for quick travel via a guide. This may appear to be a glitch, but exploring on foot is necessary to understand what’s happening in Zalissya. As you approach the base, you’ll receive a transmission from Gaffer requesting aid to protect Zalissya against an imminent Monolith attack. This initiates the “On the Edge” mission, where players help defend Zalissya, assist resident stalkers, and eventually restore its functionality.

Defending Zalissya from Monolith Invasion

Upon arriving at Zalissya, you’ll see that the base lies in shambles and a group of Monolithian soldiers are assaulting everyone present. Initially, it will be crucial for you to venture into the base and eliminate all the aggressing Monolith troops.

As a gamer, I gotta keep my focus on taking down those Monolith soldiers and steer clear of the stalkers guarding Zalissya. A quick check before I pull the trigger is a must: if my cursor stays white while aiming at soldiers, that’s the green light for me to fire. But remember, if I accidentally shoot more than once at a soldier defending Zalissya, it could spell disaster for the entire mission and see Zalissya fall. So, let’s be careful out there!

After you’ve defeated the Monolith soldiers, make your way into the Ward building and converse with Gaffer seated within. This conversation will initiate the On the Edge side quest for you. He’ll instruct you to locate Uncle Lyonya, a former Monolith member, and eliminate him as part of the mission.

How to Find Warlock’s Weapon (Optional)

In conversation with Warlock, he clarifies that Skif must accomplish two tasks if he wants to set things right again. Firstly, Skif needs to locate and retrieve Warlock’s gun hidden within Lens’ workshop.

Once the discussion concludes, make your way to the Lens workshop in Zalissya, then walk inside. Move forward straight towards the workbench and glance to the left side where you will find Warlock’s rifle “Partner” leaning against the wall. Retrieve it and return it to Warlock to accomplish the task.

Bring Hamster Back to the Base (Optional)

In simple terms, Warlock’s upcoming mission involves retrieving Hamster and escorting him back to the base. Once they reach the base, Hamster can distribute supplies among the survivors in Zalissya. To find Hamster, Warlock should head towards the Emission shelter located in Zalissya where he will meet Hamster and his protector.

Following a short standoff, players have two options: they can opt for a potentially violent scenario involving Hamster, which could escalate into a fight with him, or they can take a more tranquil approach and maintain peace by ensuring Hamster continues to function as Zalissya’s vendor. The peaceful option is recommended if you wish for Hamster to carry on his role in this context.

Have a chat with Hamster’s security personnel regarding his protective fees. Following our discussion, you will be required to hand over 6000 coupons to the guard, post which they both will depart for Zalissya.

Find Mykolayich’s Medical Kit to Help Lens (Optional)

An additional Non-Player Character you might choose to assist is Mykolayich, who’s currently caring for a severely injured character named Lens. It appears that his medical supplies have mysteriously vanished, and he urgently needs Skif to locate them. This action will significantly help Lens recover and resume his role as the Zalissya base’s technician once more.

After wrapping up our chat, the spots for three Gaffer supply boxes will be highlighted on your map. Your task is to locate all these boxes in search of a medical kit for Mykolayich. Once you find the kit, make your way back to him so you can deliver it personally. He’ll express his gratitude and immediately start attending to Lens with the kit.

Taking Out Monolithian Scouts (Optional)

Just beyond the town hall, I encountered Slavko, the local pharmacist, who shared some crucial intel with Skif. He mentioned a band of Monolithian scouts stationed atop a nearby hill, a potential threat we should address proactively to prevent another Monolith attack.

As a seasoned adventurer with countless victories under my belt, I can confidently say that this task seems straightforward enough. Climbing the hill is just a minor obstacle, and once atop, I’ll swiftly eliminate the two Monolithian scouts lurking there. With their elimination, the objective will be successfully completed without having to make the return journey to Slavko. This mission appears to be a walk in the park compared to some of my past escapades.

Track Down and Eliminate Uncle Lyonya

Now, you have the chance to accomplish the primary goal of the On the Edge side mission in Stalker 2: tracking down and eliminating Uncle Lyonya. Begin by making your way to Uncle Lyonya’s cabin, which is situated just outside Zalissya and marked on your map for reference.

Once you get to the cabin, adjust the radio’s settings inside so you can listen to a chat between Monolithian soldiers and Uncle Lyonya. A short while later, they will appear outside the cabin with the Monolithian soldiers, ready to assault Skif. Defend against the attack and put an end to Uncle Lyonya for good.

Afterward, search his body for Uncle Lyonya’s PDA containing a crucial message intended for Zalissya. Discuss with Gaffer once all tasks are done to conclude the On the Edge side mission. You’ll receive a SEVA suit with PSI shielding as a reward for your efforts.
