As a seasoned STALKER and connoisseur of the post-apocalyptic wastelands, I can confidently say that the release of STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl has been a long-awaited and exhilarating experience. After spending countless hours wandering the irradiated expanses of the original games, I found myself eagerly anticipating the return to this haunting world.

How to Upgrade Weapons (Silencers, Attachments, Upgrades, and More)
In simpler terms, you have the opportunity to enhance your equipment at Non-Player Characters (NPCs) who function as technicians. These characters can be found throughout the game map, often residing in settlements. If you happen to be a new player, then you’ll likely come across these NPCs as you explore and progress through the game.
You should take note that one of the initial (possibly even the very first) technicians you’ll encounter will be stationed in the vicinity of Zalissya. His name is Lens, and he can be conveniently located just a brief stroll away from the Zalissya Bar. For your reference, check out the map image below for his exact location.
The Lens character also acts as a quest provider, but you don’t have to finish those quests to utilize his services. To access the upgrade menu, look for the button prompt that appears on your screen, usually located in the lower right corner.
With the upgrade interface displayed, you’re able to examine your armor and weapons thoroughly, identifying what additional features the technician can install. By clicking on various sections of the weapon, indicated by a small white dot, you can explore different attachments that might be suitable for you.
Generally, these items usually just necessitate the use of coupons; however, some enhancements might demand a blueprint prior to installation. It’s also important to mention that not all technicians can install every upgrade, so you may need to seek another one if an error message indicates they are unable to assist you.
Lastly, remember that certain upgrades may necessitate installing additional extensions beforehand. Furthermore, some upgrades offer multiple options, and choosing one option will exclude you from obtaining the others.
Keep in mind that if your weapon’s state is badly worn, you’ll have to fix it up before making any changes. A technician could help with this, but be aware that the price might be somewhat steep. You can inspect this information in the lower right part of the upgrade interface.
Using Attachments
Some weapons can acquire functionalities through upgrades, which are often referred to as add-ons or modifications. To activate these attachments, first ensure your weapon is in hand and then press the ‘T’ key on your keyboard or the ‘up’ button on your gamepad (if you’re using a controller).
As a fan, I’d put it like this: “I’ll show you a compact interface right here displaying the attachments from my inventory that are compatible with my current weapon. Picking one will trigger an animation based on my selection.
You may require an initial upgrade of your firearm by a technician prior to fitting certain accessories. For instance, specific weapon types necessitate the addition of a mount for scopes first, following which you can install your personal sight attachments.
Essentially, that covers most of what you’ll require to initiate the game’s upgrade process. However, there are numerous other specialists you’ll encounter beyond Lens, so be mindful of their locations when you meet them since you might also require their assistance in the future!
