As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I can confidently say that Stalker 2’s Just Business side quest is one for the books! It’s not often you get to play as a modern-day Rambo, taking down mutants and bandits in an atmospheric wasteland.
In Stalker 2, there are numerous additional missions, several of which offer optional goals. Finishing these optional tasks usually makes the main objectives more manageable, with the Just Business mission serving as a fine illustration. Assisting Non-Player Characters (NPCs) in Stalker 2 is almost always beneficial, and this mission is no exception. Here, we’ll walk you through starting the Just Business side quest and provide a step-by-step guide to help you complete it successfully.
How to Get the Just Business Quest in Stalker 2
To initiate the Just Business mission in Stalker 2, find and talk to the barkeep located underground. You can reach him by heading south from the Toad vendor. This vendor is handy because he not only sells items but also buys damaged weapons. As you travel, look for walls with signs reading “6ap 100” – these will lead you to your destination.
In time, you’ll find an entrance that leads below ground. Go down there, and it will lead you to the bar. If your adventure has advanced significantly along the primary storyline, you might recall this location from a mission in which you were asked to talk to Richter.
Within the subterranean tavern, there are a few individuals from the Freedom faction casually present, as well as the tavern’s owner.
How to Complete the Just Business Side Quest in Stalker 2
In the Just Business side mission, you’re presented with two tasks: penetrate the bandit hideout and find the missing comrades from Freedom. Although you could go directly to the bandit base without addressing the Freedom matter, completing this extra step can greatly facilitate your overall progress.
As a devoted enthusiast, uncovering this hidden path in Stalker 2 feels like striking gold! It leads to an elusive artifact – something that’s usually hard to come by for players like us.
Finding the Missing Freedom Members
To connect with the Freedom group in Stalker 2, make your way northwest from Rostok. Your journey will take you through the Red Forest, but remember, you can only get there by crossing the Yaniv region first. It’s a fair distance, so be prepared for the trip!
To simplify your trip and avoid delays, always travel light – if you overburden yourself, it could prolong your arrival significantly. During your voyage, you may come across Vampires or, even more troublesome, find yourself in a Radiation squall without any cover around.
Upon reaching the parking spot, your goal is to locate Carl who can be found within the locker room.
Pay attention: There could be an issue that delays Carl’s appearance. As you get near the lockers, look for a “Heal Carl Clinch” action prompt on the floor.
To ensure a successful search for the lost Freedom members during the Just Business side quest, be mindful that healing Carl requires one Medkit from your stock. So, don’t forget to keep at least one on hand before you embark on this optional objective.
After I nurse Carl back to health, he’ll pass me a key to sneak through a hidden passageway straight to their lair – the warehouse where those pesky bandits have been holed up.
The tunnel entrance is located on the second floor, marked by a white door with a white light at the end of the hallway. While this shortcut lets you avoid detection on your way to the Warehouse, the tunnels are riddled with acid anomalies.
To ensure success while exploring the tunnels, be sure to arm yourself with a reliable device similar to the HILKA detector. This area conceals an important Ciliate Artifact, making it quite a significant discovery for this side mission.
Get Inside the Bandit Base
Making your way through the passages, you’ll eventually come across a ladder that leads upwards. Ascend this ladder and it will take you to the Warehouse, marking the start of the next stage in the Just Business side mission.
Here, your main task is to get rid of all the outlaws first. Then, you’ll encounter a mutant called the Pseudogiant. This formidable creature can be found in a storage unit, specifically within the Warehouse.
To find it quickly, search for a yellow-painted container and a nearby wooden box that holds some yellow paint markers as well.
Scale the crates to get to a crate filled with many wooden crates. Slice open each box using your blade, then leap off. This action will set free the Pseudogiant from its container, causing it to charge towards any surrounding adversaries.
After the Pseudogiant exits its container, employ it wisely by drawing it toward the bandits and allowing it to attack them. To carry this out efficiently, store energy drinks in your convenient slots to sustain your energy as you direct the mutant. Using this strategy can expedite clearing out the bandits since the Pseudogiant performs most of the fighting for you.
But remember, stay at a safe distance from the bandits, for the Pseudogiant may attack you too. This tactic can weaken the mutant by having it take damage from the bandits, but it carries a risk if not handled with care.
After the bandits are dealt with, you will need to kill the Pseudogiant yourself.
After you’ve vanquished it, ransack its remains to gather the Electronic Collar. The collar isn’t necessary for wrapping up the Just Business side mission in Stalker 2, but it is significant for the In the Name of Science quest.
Just Business Side Quest Reward
After finishing off both the outlaws and the Pseudogiant mutant, make your way back to Rostok. There, have a chat with the Tavern Keeper. As a token of appreciation for your task completion, he will offer you the Sphere M20 Helmet.
