STALKER 2 received its last patch this year. We can expect next update in early 2025

As a seasoned gamer with years of trekking through the irradiated wastelands under my belt, I can’t help but feel a mix of relief and anticipation upon hearing about the latest update for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. The game has been a rollercoaster ride, with its fair share of technical glitches that have sometimes made progress feel like navigating an actual Stalker zone.

GSC Game World studio has rolled out a new update for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, labeled as version 1.1.3, and it’s the final one for this year. This update primarily concentrates on addressing technical glitches in the game.

  1. The bug has been fixed where a key character could vanish from the Enerhetyk Palace of Culture during the Road to Foundation mission.
  2. A temporary solution has been added to avoid crashes during shader compilation by skipping the shader warm up function.
  3. Several errors causing the game to freeze, accompanied by the message “ACCESS VIOLATION ERROR,” have been fixed.
  4. The bug that caused the option to invert the control axis to not be saved after restarting the game has been fixed.
  5. The bug has been fixed, as a result of which the time control stopped responding after taking a shot, reloading, and examining the artifact.

Additionally, the creators have implemented a feature for saving game progress. I’m thrilled to share that you can locate your save files within this specified folder:

Concurrently, GSC Game World declared that further updates this year would not be forthcoming. Nevertheless, the developers are currently engaged in preparing a new update, slated for release at the start of 2025.

The video game “S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl” was initially launched for play on personal computers (PC), as well as the next-generation consoles, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. Following its debut, it has also been made accessible through Game Pass subscription service.
