To initiate the “The Poppy Field” mission in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, you initially need to connect with Mityay at the Zalissya Tavern first. You can easily find his location on the provided map.
As a fervent admirer, he’d share tales of a revered figure his mother often spoke of. This artifact holds significant value for him, so much so that he’s prepared to compensate with an abundance of Coupons. The catch? You must journey to The Poppy Field to retrieve it! He’ll also hint that the religious icon is concealed within a root cellar, hidden somewhere within the field.
Once you’ve taken on the task, head towards The Poppy Field, which lies northwest of Zalissya Bar.
As you reach the designated spot, expect a message from an individual named Pomor. He’ll invite you for a chat at one of the eastern shacks near The Poppy Field. While this action is not mandatory, it’s strongly advised to take the opportunity to speak with him.
Pomor is seeking the same religious artifact as Mityay and proposes trading a weapon for it. Since he can’t find his underground storage on his own, he asks you to do it instead. If you require additional details from him, you can either provide him with Coupons or fulfill another task for him. Finding the Root Cellar
To get to the underground cellar, make your way towards the heart of The Poppy Field (indicated on the map provided). As you advance towards the designated point in the open space, make sure to look closely at the ground. That’s where you’ll find the access to the underground cellar, which appears as a hole. Once you spot it, go ahead and descend into it quickly, since being there will deplete your Stamina.
Immediately after descending into the underground space, look for the religious artifact on the left shelf. Grab it before exiting the cellar. Upon leaving, be sure to move swiftly away from The Poppy Field to ensure your survival!
Now, you have two choices on what to do with the religious icon. They are as follows:
Hand over the Religious Artifact back to Mityay at Zalissya Bar, and he’ll shower you with gratitude. In return, you’ll receive approximately 1,000 Coupons from him.
Trade the Religious Artifact at The Poppy Field with Pomor and he will provide you with the AR416 of the Unknown Stalker, a rare and distinctive weapon that includes pre-installed modifications.
