Stalker 2’s latest patch once again comes with four figures worth of fixes and improvements

Four months have passed since Stalker 2 hit the gaming scene, and it started off as an exceptional shooter, but boy, did it have more technical hiccups than stars in the sky! Fortunately, GSC Game World has been tirelessly working on patches to smooth out the experience. The first patch alone was a whopper with nearly 2000 fixes, and the second one didn’t disappoint either, boasting over 1700 more. As of today, we’re welcoming patch 1.3, which brings in over 1200 modifications, adjustments, and enhancements. Granted, this latest patch has fewer changes than its predecessors, but it’s a substantial number nonetheless, and hopefully, an indication that the game is moving towards a stable and healthy state.

On Steam, GSC Game World outlined some of the key adjustments included in the latest update, addressing various aspects such as AI behavior, balance, story elements, audio effects, and progression through the story. In terms of AI and combat, the movement of mutants during battle has been made more fluid, while NPCs will now respond more effectively to the sound of footsteps.

In terms of gameplay, you’ll find A-life interactions less frequently, and some ancient items have undergone a tune-up. For instance, strange water now offers reduced radiation protection, while strange flowers have a stronger scent concealing ability. There was also an issue that allowed players to perpetually accumulate the effects of unequipped artifacts, which has been rectified.

Due to an overwhelming number of updates, I unfortunately can’t go over all the patch notes here. Kudos to GSC Game World for their impressive work! If you’re eager to delve into every detail, feel free to explore the complete list. Rest assured, this isn’t the end – more updates are on the way from GSC Game World, as they’ve already begun working on the next one.
