GSC Game World has officially announced that the enhanced edition of “Stalker: Legends of the Zone” will be available for PCs and current generation consoles starting next week, unveiling the release date for the upgraded versions of their classic shooter series.
Previously announced, the much anticipated next-generation update for “Stalker: Legends of the Zone” was slated for 2025, but now we have a specific launch date: May 20th has been confirmed.
As a dedicated gamer, I’m thrilled to share that all three of my favorite games are getting major updates for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. This means better graphics, smoother performance, gameplay adjustments to keep the games feeling fresh and modern, and more exciting features!
Moreover, GSC Game World has disclosed the PC requirements necessary for running the enhanced trilogy of Legends of the Zone – Enhanced Edition, and these specifications have been noticeably upgraded from the original games, as one would anticipate.
To run games smoothly at 1440p resolution with a frame rate of 60fps, you’ll need a GTX 1070 Ti graphics card and an Intel Core i5-6600K processor, or an equivalent setup. If you aim for 4K resolution at the same 60fps, you should consider an RTX 2080 Ti GPU along with an Intel Core i7-6700K CPU, or its AMD counterpart.
If you currently possess the initial three “Stalker” games on your PC, you’ll be entitled to the “Legends of the Zone” enhancements at no additional cost. This isn’t only about aesthetic improvements, but also includes added features such as controller compatibility and Steam achievements.
Keep in mind that the latest iterations of the game won’t work with mods made for the older versions. But, don’t worry! These updated versions won’t push out the originals from online marketplaces, and it’s quite likely that modders will craft new mods specifically for these upgraded editions.
On May 20th, the “Stalker: Legends of the Zone – Enhanced Edition” will be available simultaneously on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. You can opt to purchase each game individually or gather them all in a bundle deal. Additionally, console gamers won’t need to pay for an upgrade.
