Stalker: Legends of the Zone Trilogy Enhanced Edition is available right now as a free upgrade for classic PC and console players

Game developer GSC Game World has unveiled the Enhanced Edition of Stalker: Legends of the Zone Trilogy, offering a significant graphical upgrade to their cherished open-world survival game series. Console users can download this update as part of the trilogy, while PC players who owned the original versions will receive this enhancement for free. The upgraded trilogy is now available for immediate play.

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that the revamped trilogy brings a massive overhaul to Shadow of Chornobyl, Clear Sky, and Call of Prypiat! The updated versions offer stunningly enhanced graphics, seamless next-gen console optimizations, and a wider scope for modding. Although some old mods may not be compatible with the new versions, they now enjoy the convenience of Steam Workshop Support on Steam.

In honor of the new release of the remastered trilogy, GSC Game World is hosting a giveaway on their official Discord channel! If you haven’t grabbed the latest remasters yet, this could be your chance to win the complete set straight from the source!

As I eagerly await the Stalker: Legends of the Zone Trilogy Enhanced Edition dropping right now, it seems like I’ll have to exercise a bit more patience before I can grab the game for download on my account. In fact, my Steam library has already been updated to display the games, but they remain undownloadable at this moment as I type this.

In addition to refining the remastered versions of the earlier games in the series, GSC continues to develop ongoing updates for Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl. The latest significant update, version 1.4, has rejuvenated A-Life to a certain extent. Now, the team is focusing on incorporating mod support for both PC and Xbox versions, along with other substantial features as outlined in the game’s recent development plan.

Moreover, the team behind the game is actively developing significant updates that will provide “innovative views of the Zone”. Although the sequel faced some substantial problems at launch, they are continually striving to create an outstanding Stalker gaming experience. Given my initial affection for the flawed original version, it’s an exhilarating moment to be a supporter.
