Game developer GSC Game World has unveiled plans to release an updated version of the Stalker: Legends of the Zone Trilogy, which includes remastered versions of the initial three games from the Stalker series, on both consoles and PC platforms starting May 20.
The Upgraded Version offers a new, vibrant look to last year’s Legends of the Zone package from the Stalker series. Containing Shadow of Chornobyl, Clear Sky, and Call of Pripyat,
On PlayStation 5 (PS5), Xbox Series X|S, and their pro variants, the trilogy comes with adjustable performance settings to make the most of these consoles. Players can select from Quality (4K/30 FPS), Balanced (upscaled 4K/40 FPS), Performance (upscaled 4K/60 FPS), and Ultra Performance (upscaled 2K/120 FPS) modes, depending on their preference. Console users can even enjoy gameplay with a keyboard and mouse setup. As for the PC version, it has been fine-tuned to run smoothly on Steam Deck and includes Steam Workshop integration.
Owners of the initial launch of Legends of the Zone will be offered the Enhanced Edition upgrades at no cost. Those who possess the original PC games will likewise receive the remasters gratis. The purchase of the Enhanced Edition includes versions of the original games as well. The bundle is priced at $40, but each individual game’s remaster can also be bought separately for $20 apiece.
Due to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, Ukrainian game developer GSC Game World has faced numerous difficulties. These challenges include organizing emergency evacuations for many of its staff due to the invasion, setting up a new office in Prague, and even suffering a fire at this new location. In spite of these hardships, they managed to finish Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl last year.
