Stancé Talks UFC Collectibles Series, Conor McGregor Launch, and Teases Future Lineup

As a huge fan of MMA and UFC, I’m beyond excited about this new collectible line dedicated to the sport and its legendary fighters. Growing up, I’ve always been drawn to the raw energy and excitement that each fight brings, and collecting figures of my favorite athletes is a natural extension of that passion.

As a huge UFC collectibles fan, I’m thrilled to share that the world of UFC merchandise is getting an exciting makeover with UFC’s new collaboration with Stanc?. The dynamic duo behind Stanc?, Shaun Sakdinan and Tracy Tubera, have brought their unique style and vibrant personalities to create something truly exceptional for us fans.

Perfect Timing

Sakdinan has been involved in the toy industry for nearly 20 years, including a stint on Round 5 UFC figures back in 2008. He co-founded the company with Randy Couture and some friends, but they arrived slightly ahead of their time. Many buyers expressed reluctance to support fighting, but Sakdinan and his team persevered and eventually partnered with Couture. Around the second year, Sakdinan had an idea for puzzles and decided to sell his shares, leaving the company. He went on to create 4D Puzzles, which featured licenses from Star Wars, Warner Brothers, and Costco. Last year, he sold his company to Spin Master, but his passion for UFC remained. Unintentionally, he found himself drawn back to the sport and contacted UFC with a new idea.

After their productive discussion and the generation of a concise 12-page proposal, Sakdinan continued his journey. He shared, “During those meetings, we both came to the realization that from a fan perspective, this was something the fans desired but lacked. With their encouragement, we were granted an opportunity.”

For Tubera, it was an effortless choice to join Shaun’s project. Being an ardent fan of UFC and MMA in general, he saw great potential in the idea and the direction Shaun wanted to take their brand and collectible company. With his background in designer art toys and a growing market appreciation for unique designs, Tubera felt this was an opportune moment to collaborate.

As a huge fan of MMA and designer toys, I believed the timing was ideal for creating collectibles in this niche market. The UFC was gaining more popularity, making it an exciting time to introduce such a unique product. My business partner and I shared this vision, as we noticed no one else was exploring this idea. With my deep-rooted passion for MMA, I knew we could produce high-quality collectibles that showcased each fighter’s distinct personality. The Conor figure, in particular, would embody this concept, giving fans an irresistible desire to add it to their collections.

A Premium Collectible with Personality

Stanc’s collectibles come with a 7-inch by 9-inch figure on a magnetic display stand, an signed art print, and a collector’s box. We offer several versions: a standard one (available to 300 collectors), as well as three limited editions – Gold (limited to 200), black (limited to 200), and red glossy (only 25). Each new collectible will have additional special variants when it’s released.

As a gamer and collector at a design toy company, I understand the significance of each item we create as pieces of art. In the realm of design toys, size matters – the bigger, the better, as it allows us to appreciate every intricate detail of the style and design. Our standard collectible will be scaled accordingly for optimal viewing, and at events like UFC X, we’ve showcased larger-than-life versions that serve as stunning large-scale art pieces.

“Sakdinan mentioned an intriguing feature: the sample he had includes magnets in its base, enabling it to attach securely with a clicking sound when placed on a surface. The flag can be detached for separate display as well. An added surprise is the box adorned with Tracy’s artwork, which reveals the UFC octagon upon opening, a unique design element I have not encountered in my industry experience. This thoughtful creation fits perfectly on my shelf.”

A Varied Lineup

Conor, a living legend and active star in the sport, will kick off our new collection. Our roster includes both current celebrities and hall-of-fame veterans, welcoming everyone to join. As I’ve seen with other companies, they previously released only popular fighters up to Series 2. However, we aim to distinguish ourselves by featuring every fighter we can, as avid fans. Tracy and I share this passion and the desire to create figures for all characters, regardless of their fame level. Over time, while maintaining a fun approach, we will continue expanding our collection.

“Shaun’s thoughts and plans for the brand resonate with us as fans, so we aim to deliver content that caters to the desires of fans. This encompasses current fighters, legends, and upcoming talents in the MMA scene. At UFC events, we were always asked about specific fighters by enthusiasts, ranging from popular names to lesser-known ones. These suggestions will guide us as we strive to feature as many fighters as possible.”

As a gamer, I can totally relate to your assessment of Conor being a “unicorn” in the MMA world. But for me personally, growing up with a strong connection to mixed martial arts, my dream would be to create a character inspired by Georges St-Pierre or B.J. Penn. Those legends were my favorites, and I believe their unique personalities would add depth to our project.

The Future

As a gamer, I can tell you that each character and their variants will be uniquely designed with a strong focus on their distinct personalities. We aim to bring out the best in each fighter by creating variations that truly represent who they are. While there may be one set of variants connecting the themes, every other variant will be specific to the character it represents. Some fighters might receive a gold-plated treatment as a nod to their past or current achievements, but for the most part, we’re committed to making each variation unique and true to its character.

As a seasoned fight analyst with years of experience under my belt, I’ve come to appreciate the unique stories and personas behind each fighter in the ring. One intriguing aspect that often adds depth to their identity is the use of nicknames. These monikers are not just catchy labels; they encapsulate the essence of a fighter’s character, backstory, or fighting style.

I’m a huge fan of UFC and Conor McGregor is one of my favorite fighters. I’ve been collecting UFC memorabilia for years, and I’m thrilled to announce that you can now pre-order the latest Conor McGregor collectible right here! It’s not just an item, but a piece of sports history that I’m excited to add to my collection.
