Star Trek: Picard actor confirmed for major new Marvel series

As a longtime fan of both Marvel and Star Trek, I am absolutely thrilled about Todd Stashwick joining the cast of Marvel’s upcoming Vision series for Disney Plus! With his impressive resume that spans from The Originals to 12 Monkeys, it’s clear he has the range to bring depth and complexity to the role of an assassin.

The Vision series from Marvel, airing on Disney Plus, has announced a new addition to its star-studded cast. Actor Todd Stashwick of Star Trek: Picard fame will be joining Paul Bettany and James Spader in this upcoming production.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, actor Liam Shaw (in the role of Captain) has been cast as a character pursuing an assassin’s mission. This character is in hot pursuit of both an android and the advanced technology that it holds. The series, overseen by Terry Matalas, who is the showrunner for Picard, will feature this intriguing plotline.

Although a formal title for the show is still under wraps, it’s worth mentioning that it has been tentatively known as “Vision Quest.” However, further specifics regarding the series are currently kept secret.

It’s confirmed that both Bettany and Spader will return to their Marvel Cinematic Universe characters, Vision and Ultron respectively. This installment is planned as the conclusion to a trilogy, which started with WandaVision and continues with Agatha All Along.

According to reports, the upcoming series is expected to focus on Vision’s search for a fresh meaning in life after the incidents of WandaVision. Filming is slated to commence in the United Kingdom at the beginning of next year, with a projected release date set for 2026.

We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for more concrete updates.

Besides playing a part in Picard, Stashwick has also been featured in various other productions like The Originals and the TV adaptation of 12 Monkeys. Additionally, he’s made appearances on shows such as Mayans MC, SWAT, and 911: Lone Star.

“Mark your calendars! Agatha All Along, the new series I’ve been eagerly waiting for, debuts on Disney Plus on September 18th, 2024. And if you can’t wait that long, dive into WandaVision now! Don’t forget to subscribe to Disney Plus starting from just £4.99 a month.”
