Star Wars: Andor Expanding to New Streaming Platform and Fans Can Watch Free

The upcoming second and concluding season of “Star Wars: Andor” is scheduled for release next month, picking up where we left Cassian Andor in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”. To prepare fans for the new installments, Disney and Lucasfilm are broadening the availability of the first season, streaming it on more platforms and making certain episodes available for free.

On Monday, Disney made it possible for people with just a Hulu subscription to watch all of the first season of Andor. Also, the initial three episodes of Andor were put on YouTube for free viewing. However, if you want to continue watching the rest of the series, you’ll need to subscribe to either Hulu or Disney+.

On March 13th, Tony Gilroy, the mastermind behind the series “Andor”, will join Disney for a live rewatch event. During this event, other cast and crew members from the show will participate, delving deeply into the intricacies of the first season. Moreover, fans will be given the chance to pose questions about the series directly.

In a somewhat unusual approach, Season 2 of Andor will unfold through a chapter-based release structure. Instead of weekly installments, the entire season is divided into distinct “chapters” composed of three episodes each. The narrative flow within these chapters offers separate segments of the overall storyline. The first part, consisting of three episodes, is scheduled to debut on April 22nd on Disney+, followed by a new chapter every week for the subsequent three weeks. In essence, the full season will be unveiled across a four-week period.

In the second installment of Andor, we’ll delve deeper into the Star Wars saga, focusing particularly on the early stages of the rebellion. The narrative follows Cassian Andor’s transformation from an ordinary individual to a key Rebel leader. His story culminates in a selfless act, where he sacrifices his life during a mission to secure the Death Star plans (as seen in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story)).

“One delightful aspect of creating ‘Andor’ is the expansive nature of the plot and the diverse array of characters we get to introduce – ordinary folks, powerful rulers, fervent rebels,” Tony Gilroy stated. “Each character grapples with significant questions that carry heavy implications. Cassian’s journey serves as the heart and backbone of our narrative, but it’s the collective ensemble that truly brings the show to life. I can hardly wait for viewers to join us on this continued adventure in Season 2.”
