Star Wars Brings Back the Bad Batch for New Clone Wars Story

As a seasoned Star Wars gamer with a soft spot for the Clone Wars era, I couldn’t be more excited about the upcoming comic series, “Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories – The Bad Batch: Ghost Agents”. Having followed the adventures of the Bad Batch since their introduction in the final season of “Clone Wars”, it’s a delight to see these unique clone troopers continue their journey.

The thrilling escapades of Star Wars: The Bad Batch may have ended on Disney+, but they live on in comic book form! This popular streaming series, which spanned across three seasons, came to an end earlier this year. Star Wars: The Bad Batch focused on Clone Force 99, a special team of clone troopers initially presented during the final season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. What set the Bad Batch apart was their genetic mutations, which made them immune to the Emperor’s Order 66 and prevented them from turning against their Jedi allies. Now, fans can once again join these unique clones on a perilous mission during the Clone Wars!

StarWarsNewsNet.com has unveiled the upcoming five-issue miniseries titled “Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories – The Bad Batch: Ghost Agents” by writer Michael Moreci and artist Reese Hannigan, along with Elisabetta D’Amico, Michael Atiyeh, and lettering by Comicraft. This exciting project includes works from Moreci who has previously worked on Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories and Burning Fields, Hannigan known for Black Spot and Terminus, D’Amico famous for her work on Black Widow and Cloak and Dagger, Atiyeh with credits in Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and Comicraft, who has previously worked on Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories–Qui-Gon and Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures.

The “Hyperspace Stories” are collections published by Dark Horse, each delving into various time periods within the Star Wars universe. In 2022, Dark Horse obtained the rights for Star Wars comics, replacing IDW in the all-ages line. Meanwhile, Marvel continues to produce Star Wars comic books and is preparing for a reboot, shifting its narratives to the time following “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi“.

The piece of artwork you see isn’t the official cover, but it offers a hint of what enthusiasts might encounter when the show launches in the first quarter of next year. Valeria “Lux” Favoccia, known for her work on “Stranger Things” and “By A Thread,” is creating the covers, while French Carlomagno, recognized for his work on “The Dead Lucky” and “Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories” Volume 1, will contribute variant cover art.
